do they look at just math science, etc, or everything?
i have a 78-84-92, anbd overall 85. 1070, good ecs, and possible atheletic recruitment

I found out on the 7th. I got into UConn's honors program with a $40,000 scholarship EA! I am really excited.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats efg88?

ya seriously

SAT: 680m, 690v, 690w
SATII: 610 Lit, 700 Math I
GPA: 3.9 (weighted)
Class Rank: 4/109

A bunch of ECs but nothing amazing. Good recommendations and an ok essay (kinda cliche though).

I live in Mass but my dad went to UConn so I am a legacy. I dont know how much being a legacy matters though.

damn, im a little upset actually, i have the same GPA, amazing ECs, but like 30 points lower on my SAT...i got nothing, not even the honors college

Consider yourselves lucky that you heard. I am still waiting and applied in early
October. But good going anyway.

Thats wierd that people who applied earlier dont get notified first. I sent in my app Nov. 31st but the guidance counselors messed it up and sent it to my house instead of to UConn. I made them call up and fix it though and I was still considered for EA even though it was a few days late. Good luck with everything.

I know right. Their all worried about "honors college" and we are still waiting to see if we got accepted. Stop the crying and start celebrating. You're husky for crying out loud.

Uconn honors...found out in December way before Christmas.

SAT: 2130
SATII's: 720/720/690
3.7 Uweighted
No ec's, not hard courses, got suspended for fighting, and arrested for a car crash.

For those who are accepted, list how much $$$ you got.

I got no $$ at all.

ya mman wuts the deal with us?

i mean granted i didnt get suspended or arrested....but why didnt we get$??

I didn't even start the fight. Some kid threw an egg at my car...so I HAD to kick his ass.

understandable, prob woulda done the same. I tossed sum kid around in my locker room for putting me in a choke hold when i was changing....i threw him in the shower room and turned on the water when i was done and told him to cool off....never got in trouble

what kind of envelope does the decision come in??

i applied ea like most of you, hopefully i will get in

i big envelope but its thin

Honors program is nothing special. Most honors kids are cocky, and end up doing worse then normal students, plus its a ton more work that in the end isn't worth it if you ask me.

Hi.
I'm an out of state (NY) applicant for EARLY ACTION
1740 new sat > 1140 math and verbal
90 gpa
Took AP Classes
Bowling, Track, Awards for sports, music, academics
Honor Societies
Editor-in-Chief of school paper
Grade Council
Community Service

What are my chances of getting in? UCONN sent me an email saying they notify by early FEB, but i'm hearing a lot of other people have got accepted.

That is because UCONN is very unorganized about their admissions. Kids who applied after the EA Deadline are finding out before the ea people! Don't worry about it, I think you have a good chance. Are you an URM?

I don't understand what exactly does the "honors program" entitle you to? a better dorm?

more work?
