Dude, what’s up with all the Medillians??? (jk)

WCAS is where it’s at!

Wcas 2014!

Any other School of Communication people here?

@ross25: So I saw your post and it seemed like you were saying “[I got accepted into] Wcas 2014” and my heart skipped several beats. I immediately checked my inbox and like so many other times this weekend, there was nothing. sigh Oh well.

The moral of the story is: be careful what you say and how you say it, because you just may give someone a heart attack.

@citylove

School of Comm for Theatre =]

OMG, I’m so sorry. It was supposed to be a yelp of agreement at Glenny’s post concerning WCAS. I am really sorry. It’s just a hopeful blurb…because there is a big possibility that’s not going to happen.

Yesterday I was looking at the number of students accepted to each school and I started freaking out a bit because Medill is only somewhere around 150. EEK!!

@crystal: Do you have the site for that? i’m curious

So I’m a little scared. I applied for Radio/television/film through the School of Comm. and I’m kinda thinking that it was a bad idea. I don’t have any real RTVF focused ECs, and I’ve also got a low ACT score by NU standards. I hope I don’t regret applying to a more specialized program…

What’s “low by NU standards”? Because I’ve been hearing vast theories about what exactly NU standards are for GPA and test scores.

And now the real fear and regret sets in.

Here I am with a 28 on the ACT, a 3.94 weighted GPA, and nothing at all on my transcript or in my ECs to suggest I have any kind of passion for journalism, trying for 1 out of 150 spots at one of the most prestigous Journalism schools in the country.

I’m not going to sleep well tonight.

Nobody’s ACT scores are going to change now, are they? It is what it is and we are where we are.

Yes, you’re right. I know that I can’t change anything now, but I think all this waiting is just making me second-guess myself even more than I already was. When I go back and read the posts from people last year talking about their stats, I always feel totally inferior… but then again, I’m sure we’re all way too hard on ourselves about this stuff. Either way, I just want to know so I can move on-- whether it’s good or bad!!

^ citylove, you gotta know these ppl on CC tend to be better than avg ppl around us hahah

Believe me this is no easier with a 34 act AND 1550 sat.

If it makes anyone feel any better at all, there’s a pretty good chance that we’ll know by this time tomorrow! 24 hours, people!

Wow. I can’t believe I’m posting. I promised myself that I’d NEVER EVER make an account here because of how addicting it is just to read it. And someone else also mentioned the fear of jinxing myself… but somebody said How I Met Your Mother was his/(her?) all time favorite show a couple of pages back, and I just couldn’t resist.

Though following this page and refreshing every few minutes is absolutely unhealthy, there’s also a sense of comfort? that we’re all in this together, that we’re not alone. So hi! from another NU hopeful ![]()
So scared. So anxious.

THIS IS KILLLING ME.

So much for making progress on a research paper due at the end of the week… I know decisions aren’t coming, but this is still all I can think about right now.
At least I know I’m not alone. Gahashd;falksjdf;laksjbas.

Haha. To which school are you applying?

And I really am ready to just get it over with. I’m confident about everything on my application from my awards to short answer, except for my goddamn GPA. Honestly, it wholly reflects the deteriorating trend of secondary-school-record credibility. This whole nation needs to transition to either a completely percentage-based system or a uniform 4.0 scale.

And my question was for Objective. My bad.

@cclolzftw: What you’re recommending is completely and entirely logical. It would make perfect sense to have every secondary school in the nation to have the same grading scale. Therefore, it will never happen.

@Teeannwhy: That’s a great point. We’re all in this together. =)
