Hi Morrison,
Thanks a lot for the answer…
Tomorrow will be 6 weeks since April 1st.
Hopefully we’ll get the decision soon.
Thanks,
Adam

isradam1,

1) I think they are behind the schedule. I have been waiting longer than 6 weeks. Probably a couple more weeks?
2) Some of the international applicants who applied earlier like in February, reported here that he/she was accepted.
3) Some people said that they use regular mail even if you are accepted. However, I am skeptical about this. Since many foreign countries like in Italy has very unreliable postal system, I think they use private carrier for acceptance notification.

By the way, a link to the Columbia University Financial Aid System Online popped up on my “Track Your Application” page a couple days ago, though I have not received a decision yet. Does anyone experience the same thing?

After your post, I tried mine, I see that link as well. it wasn’t there yesterday

Hi again,

eugeneor thanks for the answer.

I also got the link for the financial aid but I couldn’t activate it…

Did any of you try to activate it?

i tried but it say it couldn’t and something like we can call and tell them it is code ia

Yea, same here.

when did you see yours? mine didn’t appear after i checked yesterday. do you think we should call? did you apply for financial aide? i didn’t.

The first time I saw the new option was yesterday.

I filled in the form for the financial aid (I thought it was an obligation no?).

I don’t know about calling… I have a feeling that we will get the decision very soon…

Do you think this new option has to do with our decisions?

I called and told them what happened. at first she asked me wether I am a current student or a new student I said no, and told them I am an applicant and haven’t recevied a decision yet. And she told me that I don’t need to activate it at this point. She did not say wether this had to do with our decision. I hope its a good sign.

zhaozhao thanks for the update!

I wonder if everybody got this thing.

I wonder the same thing. it was not up there six weeks ago. it must mean somthing right? even i called i still dont have the answer maybe I asked the wrong question. please some one have any idea what this means.

@zhaozhao

Now I am able to log on to the Columbia University Financial Aid System Online. Try using your birthday in DDMMYYCC format as password. I am still not sure if this is something to do with the decision or merely a routine procedure that they do for everyone including those rejected.

I got Accepted!!! I will post my stat once I calm down…

finally some one got accepted. so I guess once you are accepted you will be able to log on to the financial aid page.

But having that link doesn’t really mean anything.

Congratulations to you eugeneor

So you received the package thru regular mail?

@zhaozhao,

I received a phone call shortly after 10AM PST today (the number was “Unavailable”), so I have not received the package yet. I really hope this was not a scam or something… I was told to expect the package by tomorrow or Friday. I live in the West, so I am pretty sure it will be Fedexed.

Here are my stat.

My application became complete on March 26, so I waited 54 days.

Age: 21
Sex: Male
Nationality: Japan, currently living in the U.S.
High School GPA: High School in Japan, Really bad, probably lower than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
College GPA: 3.9, graduated with an AA from a community college in the U.S. in 2008, attended at local university and earned some credits
ECT: 9

Of course, I had plenty of personal story to tell. I did complete an optional essay, and submitted a picture of myself.

My fingers are crossed, everyone!

so I guess they do call. I live in new york. So maybe a call or not.
So happy for you.
Congrats again. I submitted everything on April 1st. but there was a little problem with my name. so I guess it was on April 7th to be exact.
Well then, they have started giving out decisions for international applicant.

eugeneor congratulations!!!
really happy for you guys who got in.

Another person on the other thread got a positive decision.
So did the person on facebook who wrote on GS’s wall.

I guess we should get the decision any day now.
I still wonder if i’ll get the decision by fedex/mail/phone/email.
It seems like every person got his/hers decision in a different way.

Good luck!

Hi, I just called GS and they told me that my application is still under review.

They also said that I should get my decision in the end of June (???).

That’s so late…

I applied for the International deadline of April 1st. My application was actually completed on March 22nd.

Did any of you got a same response? / What does this mean?

Why don’t they just send me a Yes/No/Waiting list decision?

I received my acceptance via a phone call a few hours ago. I should get the packet next week. So excited, eeeee.

Also, CONGRATS to all the people coming in!! Hope I bump into you guys next year.
