Early Decision I for class of 2018

Thank you for informing us that the letters were mailed!

Ugh and the wait continues. I’m glad to hear that the letters have been mailed out though. I’m crossing my fingers that the postal system is super speedy these next few days!

I guess we just all need to have patience everyone. Today is the single biggest mailing day of the year because of holiday cards and gifts.

When don you guys think those of us on the east coast will get the letters?

My guess is Wednesday but if we are lucky tomorrow!

I can confirm letters went out yesterday Monday 16th in the afternoon. New England students will start getting letters tomorrow- 18th. Time will vary, don’t worry if it takes longer

Not sure where these people live but I saw on twitter that some people have gotten their letters from Bates.

My mail already came today and I didn’t get my letter. Hope I get it tomorrow!

A young woman who lives in Maine just posted on twitter #bates2018 that she received her acceptance letter today.
The west coast folks will probably have to wait until Thursday or Friday.

Sqauwmom that’s what I was referring to in my post above. I was unsure of where she lives though. From what I saw on twitter it seems to be her 18th birthday today. What a great birthday gift.

If you on the west coast are guessing it will come on Thursday or Friday. Then I am guessing I will get mine tomorrow since I live on the east coast!

I still wonder why bates can’t email or post online our decisions. If they could do that we would all know by now!

I’m hoping you get your acceptance tomorrow! I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Thanks and I hope you get your soon too!

You can use this map to see the expected delivery time from Bates (originating zip 04240). Keep in mind this is the busiest time of year, so your actual delivery date might be a day later than this map indicates.

Thanks for sharing that webiste. I was excited to use it but I can’t seem to find originating zip 04240 as they seem to only have three number zips. Do you happen to have the three number zip?

Also does anyone know if Bates mailed the letters via first class mail? If so the letters will come a lot faster then if they mail it via the regular mail.

Thanks!

I’d guess it’s from Portland, Maine. When I send packages to my Bobcat, they go through Portland before arriving in Lewiston.

Thank you! I just tried all four of the different portland maine numbers (there is no lewiston one) and they all said via first class mail it should take three days. That means it will come tomorrow! I am so excited for it to come. Now lets just hope that I got in.

Fingers crossed!

Seeing someone already getting in is making me even more anxious!! Please let that be me tomorrow! :)

To use the map in the link I posted earlier, you just enter the first three numbers of the zip and ignore the last two.

Bates twitter says “Decision letters for ED1 have been mailed! Got a big envelope? Share your excitement with us by tweeting #bates2018!” Now we will all be on the hunt for the big envelope!

Yep, I am pretty sure in past years acceptances came in a big envelope that said congratulations on the front. So basically you know if you got in before you even open the envelope!

So tomorrow I’m going to wait and watch the mailman put it in my box so I will know right away! ;)
