@ismitah Oh. Didn’t know that at all. I called Emory Admissions about Q1 grades a few weeks ago. Do you think think this is bad?

@pskywalker no I don’t think that will hurt you. They’re there to help us understand the process and answer our questions. I don’t think the people who answer the phone are admissions counselors (I’m not positive, @bernie12 do you know?) and I think they’re assistants. I’ve called and emailed a few times myself
No, what would upset them is if you called complaining or concerned about the grades you were making. You’re calling about an item that impacts the completion of the app not the quality
Did anybody find the stats for last year’s ED1 results? # accepted, # deferred, #rejected… Or even overall/RD?

Oxford ED1:

184 admitted
Emory released those numbers for class of 2019

@NeuroDude I haven’t seen any stats, but naturally, I think colleges try and stay away from lots of defers because, while its not a deny, it’s lengthening the process and putting stress on the applicant.

It is also weird what happened with that Vimeo video. All it said anyway was the day the decisions are released which was already public information and very evident from the constant countdown updates in this forum/discussion.
Guys do you think they’d include my senior q1 in my GPA?
@pskywalker Not too sure, they may add it in when they recalculate your GPA based on their methods. What were your stats?
I got all As Q1, but my GPA before that was around a 3.4 including freshman year. I really bombed freshman year. I got like all Bs and one A. I also heard they don’t count classes like band… is this true?? Also, do they add weight to AP and Honors???
I believe they do. They will recalculate our GPAs counting only the classes they deem countable, i.e. no gym or electives, and they will add their own weights to honors and AP classes. @pskywalker how are your scores and hooks?
