@Oliea98 I like Joseph Gordon levitt! The last book I read for school was the kite runner by Khalid hosseini, which is such a beautiful book but it broke my heart into tiny little pieces. I also finished reading the importance of being earnest by Oscar Wilde, which is a light hearted play.
I know reading can be hard sometimes and for a little bit I practically gave up trying to read in between school related books. But then I started working at Barnes and Noble and realized it’s not a sacrifice I was ok with. So if anyone needs a book recommendation I’m your gal
Georgia boy here too.
Gotta say that I really enjoy reading super “high fantasy” styled books. The most recent I majorly enjoyed was the last one in the Wheel of Time series. Also Game of Thrones.
Oh. And I’ll be bringing a rice cooker definitely. Half because it’s in my name and half because I eat it like 3 times a week.
Unless it’s against the rules of course.
I’m not sure about a desktop tbh. I’m thinking about bringing mine but I’ve seen the dorms and space wise you start pushing it a little. Plus you’d need another computer anyways or pretty much be shackled to your room.
@ismitah I definitely feel guilty about not having time to pleasure read, I can’t wait until summer so I can pick up the Bell Jar that has been sitting underneath my bed for forever! And I’ve heard both of those works are really good, especially the Kite Runner!
And I think for dorm things… probably just band posters to make it feel more homey (and if I end up with cinder block walls I will need a lot to cover those up lol).
@AnxiousBoy haha I think you can put your rice cooker in the common hall kitchen. Rice is practically in my blood too, I eat it everyday. I don’t know what I’m gonna do without my home cooking.
@Kostt2000 I personally wouldn’t bring a desktop because you would need a laptop too to take notes in your classes with. I would just bring a laptop.
@ismitah and @NeuroDude i know this is significantly late in the thread, but they do offer interviews. I just got invited for one and am currently going to do it next saturday. I don’t know if this helps especially since I just saw this thread XD
For me I have to say my most quirky habit is that I write completely sideways. Like, I have to turn my paper on its side and right up and down versus side to side. I don’t know why I do it, I’ve done it as long as I remember
@BlackHuntress are you ED? I didn’t think they did it for ED 1 students because of the time crunch. Also, are you a resident of Ga? I don’t think they offer interviews in my home state.
Not exactly a habit but I’m super superstitious, to an insane amount and it definitely gives me anxiety instead of calming me down. I believe in omens but believe that there is only a certain amount of good that can come in a period of time. Perfect example my friend failed her drivers test, then got into UPenn the same week. Universe said she couldn’t have both! It’s probably really dumb but I don’t know if I can stop my way of thinking at this point
@ismitah lol no I’m not ed, but about 5-10 minutes ago i just read someone from a few years back who was ed 1 and got an interview request. Still, regardless if one gets ani Nterview i think you should be fine since looking at a few acceptances and stats on here alot of people got in with no interview. And sorry, I’m in Florida Good luck though for the 15th! My friend applied ed so I’m hoping for the best! Especially since a few others i know applied to other prestigous schools like UPenn, Columbia, and Stanford ED and did not get in…even though I was pretty positive they would. Shows you stats aren’t everything
Maybe not quirky, but I am incredibly OCD. Like I color coordinate all my school stuff by subject and I also only use G2 Pilot 10 pens. I will not write in any other. I have lots of weird idiosyncrasies, some good and some that can make things hard, like the pen problem. I am really upset that they aren’t live blogging on the 15th. They are just doing one single blog post on Tuesday.
