Emory v. William and Mary

Hilarious thread, to say the least.

lol, yeah.. I never even knew Coca Cola existed when Emory was founded in the early 1800's! News to me!

Mas -- this was a very old thread that really should have not been reinstated by you. This is my last reply in this stupid thread.

Meant to say "endowed" above, not "founded."

Your "Nouveau" schools are so poor in quality. You win.

Coca Cola has been around for a LONG time. But, I believe Emory got all it's endowments from them in the 20th century.

Coca-Cola shares account for only 19% for Emory's currrent endowment. Emory is selling off more Coke stock too. Additionally, it has gotten much of its current endowment from other sources including alumni gifts, gifts from other private donors, and drug sales. (last year it sold a drug and received about $325 million for use for the university.) It also has several more drugs it plans to sell worth in the tens of millions of dollars.

Doesn't Emory have those "boards" that it sells?

Just kidding!

Several of my favorite people in the world went to Emory, loved it, and did fantastic things with their degrees and with the connections they made at Emory. For those fortunate enough to earn a trip though the Haygood-Hopkins Gate, what a wonderful ride.

Indeed. Coca-cola has been iffy, so Emory and GT both have sold off some Coke stock.
