Fall 2012 Transfers

It makes more sense to do things of this nature in waves in order to keep schedules easier for the people doing the reviewing. It would also make the logistics of handling the mail more manageable. There’s probably other aspects of ‘office stuff’ that it would make sense for.

I would guess they give early offers to students who’ve already been admitted to their programs, or are outstanding in some way. They could potentially delay students who are still waiting to hear back from their respective programs. I have ~3.9 GPA and haven’t seen my transcripts load or gotten anything in the mail yet. :-/

Someone said that general admission acceptances/rejections would be sent out by June 15th. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I fall under that category and haven’t heard anything yet which is making me rather anxious.

I’ve seen that 15th propagated in a few spots, but I have no idea of the source/origin. The only thing that I’ve seen genuinely sourced to UW is June-July. Nothing more specific.

@jimmytppr01: I don’t really know, but I’m gonna guess we’ll hear back around mid July? Really hate the waiting part. :(

Hey guys, so I originally planned on taking summer quarter to get some prerequisites out of the way but I can’t now due to the fact that I only wanted to take one class but financial aid can’t cover it and I can’t pay out of pocket. Where would I go on my app to change it so that UW knows in case they decide to “check in” for summer quarter? Or would I have to email admissions?

my unofficial transcript loaded today!! I’m so relieved… hopefully I’ll get a letter in the mail soon. just wanted to let you guys know - I was afraid I’d have to wait until july to hear back, too.

Is it a good sign if my financial aid award has been posted?

It probably is, because it looks like that it takes a considerable amount of time for the UW to award it. But the unofficial transcript is more reliable.

How do I know if my unofficial transcript is loaded? I see my unofficial transcript but there is 0.0 transfer credit. Does that mean it is not loaded?

Jytshen, if you can see your unofficial transcript, which displays your campus and/or your intended major and your student number, that means you are 95% in.

There shouldn’t be any transfer credits posted, just the transcript itself should be accessible.

Thanks, Seatac. I’m hoping to get my acceptance letter soon.

I had my unofficial transcript uploaded two days ago and today i got my letter :)

unofficial transcript loaded Wednesday 6/27 and I received my letter yesterday 6/29. Now I’m just waiting on my packet :D

Congrats to the new people who got accepted!

Transcript loaded, acceptance letter received, just got welcome packet (YAY), but still no word on financial aid… anyone know how long that takes? I did the Fafsa by the deadline and all

It takes a couple weeks

I filed my fafsa on February 13th or so and got a notification yesterday. You will get it soon also.

just got my acceptance letter today!! however, I just noticed this on their website:

Your offer of admission was made on the basis of information you provided on your application and documents you submitted. You are therefore obligated to send your final official transcripts showing all of your course work, including any courses that might have been in progress at the time of application.

These final transcripts should be sent as soon as the completed work is recorded on the transcript(s) but no later than July 1, 2012.

July 1st is tomorrow, and I didn’t even know about this rule until just now? I sent them an incomplete transcript with my application… help? I thought they’d let me know earlier if they needed a final transcript…

I wouldn’t worry about it much. Give them a call on Monday. They aren’t going to reject you now without reviewing your info by a person first. Appeal if something happens. You have really good grounds for it.

Thanks seatac… I just ordered a transcript and e-mailed them about it. Hopefully it’s not a big deal, but I hate when surprise deadlines just appear out of nowhere.
