Fall 2013 Early Action

Hello, Everyone. Congrats to all who have been admitted!
I have a question. I submmitted my application in March and haven’t got my application ID. The Admission officer said My application is complete and is currently under review. Anybody knows how to check your application ID and check your admission status?
Thank you so much.

interesting modus operandi to put it mildly.

@tsar10027 Thanks! But I think it’s too soon to tell. I need to have an acceptance letter before I can celebrate…

@deathtocraig I wish I could tell you that you got in, but I’m on the same boat myself. Don’t worry about not having had an interview, it’s not a requirement and some people get accepted without it! I truly think I was on the brink of getting rejected and I got mine as a maybe bonus; but who knows! I will keep you all posted when I hear some concrete news!

@lsj1991 I got my CUID immediately after sending in the first part of my application, I would advise you to call Columbia GS and ask for it, but keep in mind that the status check online only relates to what parts of your application have been received and accepted, to know if your application is still under review or been processed you need to call them and the receptionists are usually very vague and not up to date at all. Ie. I called last Friday and was told my application was still under review and when I called today I was told a decision was made on the 24th, even though I had an interview on the 29th. If you have made a close connection with your admissions counselor, call in and ask to be transferred to him/her; you will get a more concrete answer that way.

As someone who is graduating in 3 weeks and who has a considerable amount of experience with such matters, one’s ability to log on to the fin aid website coupled with an interview means an acceptance 99.99% of the time.

Tsar - How are we supposed to get an invite for storybook? I got my acceptance letter over a week ago. Also, since I haven’t been given a UNI log in I can’t access the Scholarship Application which is marked with a deadline for April 15. Does that mean you can’t apply for a scholarship the year you’re accepted? I didn’t even have my letter by that date but my GI Bill isn’t covering everything and I’m trying to get as much money as possible before taking out loans. This is frustrating, especially when the secretary at the office is busy with other applicants and can’t seem to give me a straight answer about who can resolve these issues.

Hi Everyone, it’s official! I got my acceptance call today! I’m so excited!

Hi Everyone, it’s official! I got my acceptance call today! I’m so excited!

Congrats fy2140!!!

you too to6284 finallyp

Congrats to to6284, and fy2140! Seems like almost everyone here got their acceptance letter already.

lol to6284 and fy2140, why identical posts word in word? Congrats guys, I’m so happy so many people in the thread have already gotten their acceptances! When I was starting this thread and very few people responded, I was thinking it would never expand to this level! I’m so happy it did! We should definitely connect, through storybook (which I’m not on yet) or otherwise!

-Denis

congrats to the recently accepted!

I just got my acceptance as well. I’m stoked. See you all there!

Congratulations to you both! I know fy2140 has been waiting forever to hear back, and I’m sure to6284 did also. And I especially like how you two wrote the exact same thing! Hahaha

Congratulations to the newly accepted!! I will be glued to my phone all day.

It would be wonderful to connect with everyone from the thread who plans on attending! I received my Fedex package an hour after my phone call, now the fear of debt is starting to sink in!

I was told Storybook will come in a couple of weeks, so we should all definitely add each other!

when I saw fy wrote the same thing I thought I had clicked posted twice!

And congratulations Deathtocraig!!

It’s been so fun following this thread - Storybook has been quiet so it will be great to have you all on it! By the way, let me know when you have figured out how to be okay with student loans!!! Over $110,000 is what it will cost for me…at 6.8% interest AND in a field that, historically hasn’t been high paying…hmm…if I were 19 and debt free to begin with, I might okay with it but…gulp…

Congrats everyone!!! So happy to hear it!

Ssantana,

I am also waiting to hear back from the school.

I told you guys… I had a good feeling about the people on this thread!
