Fall 2014 Transfer Applicants

Actually @delinquente‌ can I ask why you want to leave ND?

@masqalree‌ how about animal science? :)

@masqalree, were you an AEM major? How were your stats at cornell like? TBH i thought that having a strong academic record at Cornell would be a good showing for transfer applications…guess not

@SeekCollege369 Which is why I am raging online towards people I don’t even know. Personally, if you even consider comparing AEM at cornell to Wharton, it’s understandable that you didn’t got in. You just don’t have a sense of what Wharton is. I am not idolizing it, but am emphasizing the energy in that place. AEM is just a major with people who want to work in business. Wharton is where people who want to do something big with business. ■■■■

@Rewaska Ask that to the school you just got in. Shame on you for being an insensitive person who is seeking personal interest from a person raging and grieving. You will meet yourself when you go there. :-SS

Accepted! Sociology major.

lol @masqalree I am at Cornell myself. I was simply curious as to why you could have been rejected. trust me i know what goes down in AEM…

@SeekCollege369 Are you at Cornell? what major?

yes. pulled a 4.1 in engineering and applied to penn eng. to try and pursue a dual degree or major-minor with wharton.

@masqalree‌ i am asking you as a person from Cornell and saying Cornell doesnt do anything right. i want to go to Cornell becase I think their Vet school is the best. I dont know about their undergrad. Sorry you are raging. Other people are dissapointed too…

Now I am just confused how they pick their students… WIsh I could talk to someone who got in to find out why I didn’t get in.

No one will ever begin to understand why or why not people are admitted. I was rejected by NYU as a freshman applicant but accepted into Penn as a transfer… I also applied to Cornell as a transfer but have not heard back.

@Rewaska I’m not being rude on purpose. Seriously, you’ll meet yourself once you go there. Just try to reflect on yourself and see where I’m coming from.

@masqalree I was under the impression that a solid record at a peer institution would make for a strong application…who knows. did you apply to any alternatives?

@SeekCollege369 No, just Wharton.

Not knowing is the worst :(

@SeekCollege369‌ Maybe Wharton’s criteria for selection are different from other schools in Penn
I thought I had a good shot because one of my friends from same school got into Wharton as a sophomore transfer with a 3.9. He’s indian tho… so that might have helped??

@letters95 Would you mind sending me the essay you wrote for penn? I would really like to read yours and get a sense of who gets into penn.

8% transfer acceptance rate this year, folks–lowest in Penn’s history (along with the lowest freshman acceptance rate ever). It really is a crapshoot.

Most of you already are doing quite well at phenomenal schools, and you’ll continue to do well in your lives and careers in the years and decades to come. And I know that based on the several decades since my own college and grad school graduations. :)

@masqalree Sorry, I would feel uncomfortable sending my essay to a stranger. All I did was explain my reasons for transferring and what I plan to do. I was VERY specific in mentioning the exact research I plan to delve into, so take note of that! Not much room for creativity on these essays. I’m in CAS btw. Wharton is a WHOLE different game…
