Anyone here an international transfer? I haven’t heard back yet :frowning: and from looking at old transfer forums from the last few years, it looks like international transfers find out waaaay later for some reason

I’m not an international transfer student, but if its gives you any consolation I haven’t heard back on my application yet either lol.

Could anyone tell me my chances of being accepted when applying after the priority date of March 1st. I recenlty changed my major. My gpa is a 3.5 and I have a little over 30 credits. I am also an out of state applicant. Just wondering if it is completely useless or not!

Congrats on everyone getting in! know it’s early for this but I figured if I could get some input and stats from 2014 transfer students. I’m currently a pre-nursing student at a really good CC in Illinois and I’m looking to transfer into the BSN program at UM. I’m originally from Florida, moved to IL in eighth grade. I’m also going to apply to University of IL at Chicago and a third school (unsure of which yet!). Here are my stats:

Gender: Female, 21 years old
Race: white, but I am 25% Native American (undocumented, but in the process of getting it documented)
GPA: currently 3.74, not factoring in this spring, summer, or fall classes
High school GPA: I think it was like 3.2 UW
ACT: 27 (retaking in June)
Credits: will have 54 at the end of the semester (I was undecided until a few months ago, which I know probably reflects badly on me ) plus credits from all the prereqs I now need to take. I will “graduate” with an AS in May
Awards/Honors: Honors scholar at my CC, Prairie State (IL) Achievement Award for Excellence in Writing, Service Learning Scholar at my CC for completing volunteer work as part of an Honors Leadership Development study program
ECs: Have volunteered in nursing homes visiting the elderly with my dog for ~10 years, JV Track and Field in HS, Phi Theta Kappa member
Work/Other: I currently work for my CC as a Writing, Reading, and Speech tutor, something that the college specifically selects and trains you for based on your academics, I single-handedly ran a drive to collect beanie babies and stuffed animals to donate to a local nursing facility for their activities department (donations totaled over 300 items), etc
Alumni: my uncle was a Visual Arts major and graduate from UM
Essays: I’m obviously a good writer and can convey emotionally why I want to be a nurse and what connections I have with each school
Letters of Rec: can get some awesome ones from teachers and administrators with PhDs in their fields

Is there anything I’m missing? What do you guys think my chances for Miami are?

Has anyone received their financial aid/scholarship package yet?

No fa package yet, but I just received notification of $7000 president’s scholarship.

@zumreeed‌ I don’t know if you have by now, but I’m an international student as well and I haven’t received a reply. They keep on pushing it back on CaneLink.

I also just received a $7k scholarship

Finally got my FA package, didnt get any scholarships which is weird cause I transfered in with 62+ credits with a 3.68 GPA, which is honors from the college i graduated from (penn state branch campus) but the school is giving me 24,880 in grants and their offering me another 9,000 in loans so im at 33,880 right now. Hopefully I can come up with another 30k to attend! Im curious as to why I didnt receive a scholarship?

I got a 11 presidents scholarship. 9500 grant from the school. Total aid package with federal grants and loans is 40 K. 27 grant, 13 loans. Marsh is that 25 in the cane grant or federal grant too?

■■■■■■■■, 18k is coral grant the rest is federal and work study grants. I called the U last friday and they said they are still giving our scholarships and that they dont come with the FA package, they said to call back tuesday if i dont see anything so im hoping for a little bit more money from a scholarship

Just got in!

Stats:
GPA: 3.75 first semester, midterm report for this semester was A, A, A-, B, B-
ACT: 31
Transferring 27 credits
High school career was terrible

@strombolicool‌, did you apply after the priority date too?

I just finished up my app about a week and a half ago and will probably have to wait a few more for the decision.

@lambo85 I applied before it but they didn’t received all of my materials until after it so I’m not sure what they classified it as.

So I just got an e-mail from admissions saying that after my current semester is over, they want me to send in my spring grades. Does this mean that i’m in good standing as long as my grades have stayed consistent or improved?

Accepted as a Motion Picture major 3.1 gpa transferring from a 4 year private school in CA.

Does anyone know if theres any other way to like talk to other accepted transfers and stuff
