yea i believe so for people with ACG. Its only the ACG grant that got reduced

well, I have around 45 units from AP already though…

my ACG is still at 750, but there’s an estimate thing there

I’m guessing EFC is still factored in for that grant

dang wth…
i originally had 750 and dropped to 250
and got this message

ACG Grant revised based on your total number of units completed,
including Advanced Placement units and/or transfer units. You
will no longer be eligible for ACG Grant 1 after you exceed
freshman class standing (completion of 45 units).

were you get this from? Growl

I first got a email notification about financial aid being changed and got that off of growl

“Wow. my financial aid got reduced today because i passed too many AP tests and will have over 45 units after 1st quarter. Lost 500$”

I guess that’s a downside of taking AP tests?

eh o wells… 500$ is worth almost being a sophomore in my 1st year

i know thats cool I dont become a sophomore till spring so ill try to go to a JC full time next summer to get junior standing

lol my ACG grant disappeared completely, I’m down 750 - still have small surplus though…

haha already over 45 units?

damn that’s cool I have 20 sadly

I’ll have like 40-something units at end of fall quarter, will this affect me?

I won’t have enough for sophomore standing(i think), but it’s eerily close.

your good i guess you started the year a freshman. so wait you have 20 units this quarter

I have 16 units this quarter

only if you pass 45, so I think after 2nd quarter u wont get the ACG grant for third quarter

Oh wow, that’s lame.

I have 52…unless chem ap doesn’t count

well, i got my statement a couple of days ago, and it’s honestly a bit sobering.
last year, i got cut a check for 3500 dollars per quarter which was actually kind of nice. after books, and rent, i had a nice little surplus.

this year, however, i’m only getting a check for 2500, which means that after rent, i’m living on a pretty barren budget per month.
whatever works, i guess…

So, I thought I wasn’t gonna get 45 units but it turns out that i’m actually at 51 units.
CC units are apparently more at UCR…

But my ACG is still here.
So I looked again at the grant requirement and it read:

“ACG Grants are available to Federal Pell Grant recipients who are U.S. citizens, in their FIRST or SECOND academic year”

Idk why you guys got your ACG taken away, but I would definitely call in if I were in your position.

and even if you are of sophomore standing, don’t you still count as first-year student?
