@MrRobot2018 @rshrawg Thank you both for your replies. I feel better reading them. Hopefully things will be alright
@Taylie1768 Nope. They will reach out to you if there’s anything missing. They also told me that additional/verification documents will be requested from only those who get admitted.
@hg0987 Ah ok, thank you!
Any ideas about when letters will go out this year?
Most likely Friday 3/22
does that mean we’ll receive the letters on 3/22 or that they will be sent out then?
@beccaisa 3/22 is the predicted mailing date. I’m expecting 3/25 to be the first time people post on here seeing informed delivery envelopes coming their way. These people will probably be those geographically closer to GT.
Daughter is RD. 4.95/5, 1510, great rec’s, great visual arts portfolio, good EC’s, solid leadership. Fluent French / bi-literacy certification. Strong essays, very strong writer. Is Georgetown possible with a 1510? She’s NMF, for what that’s worth. Thanks.
My counselor has not submitted my mid-year report. Will this impact my admission (is it considered “incomplete?”)
I have two daughters, and my older one was deferred then accepted for the class of 2019. My younger one was deferred, and now awaiting decision for class of 2023 - fingers crossed! My older daughter LOVES GU 100%. It may have been mentioned here, but if you follow Georgetown Admissions on Twitter, they usually send a tweet when they mail the letters.
@lawandphotos My son is in the same position. Granted, he only submitted the second part of the application a week ago.
question, if we are rejected will a portal update notify us before we receive a letter or the other way around? I live in northern VA so I should expect a notification by mon 25th I’m assuming, but if I’m rejected I wonder if they send letters at the same time
i Wouldn’t think so. My daughters EA deferral came in mail same time as acceptances.
I had an extremely vivid dream last night that I was accepted to Georgetown… I hope this dream becomes a reality next week!!
Is Linguistics in high, mid, or low demand as a program at GU?
@PapaMode of course a 1510 SAT is plenty good enough for Georgetown. Every year, there are many students who are accepted with sub 1300s. It’s never about just test scores @ Georgetown as they look at many factors. Usually, the lower scores are for URM, first gen, recruited athletes, large donors or other ‘hooks’, but NOT ALWAYS. If they like the student and feel he/she will be a good fit then they will consider acceptance.
I’m an international applicant. I received a deferral in my email in the early morning on the 15th of December (which would have been the middle of the day on the 14th in D.C). This was at least a day before the majority of other EA applications got their decisions via mail. Would this same trend be true for RD? I just want to know what day I can expect that rejection, lol.
@Taylie1768 I would expect it to be the same. I applied EA too and was deferred, and during that process, it seemed like international applicants were all emailed.
@lawandphotos @NMParent000079 I would reach out to GT ASAP … this happened to me last week. Has Georgetown reached out to you guys or your counselor about the missing mid-year report recently?
So my checklist has been devoid of my transcript, school report and recommenders for a while. I’ve received missing materials emails, but I’ve received confirmation from my counselor that he mailed everything in before the deadlines. Georgetown says that documents sent through its portal aren’t accurately reflected in the checklist, so I haven’t thought much of it. However, my checklist recently updated to indicate that my Secondary School Report and Transcipt had been received on March 15, and the Mid-Year Report (I may be mistaken here, but I have some recollection of it being received by Georgetown) has disappeared. The recommendations are still (unsurprisingly) absent.
This is probably innocuous portal-tinkering, but I’m still curious if anyone has any insight into why it updated so late; maybe it’s an indication that they’ve finalized my decision, or maybe it’s just them getting ready to update portals?
