@salster My son could have done the interview, but at the time the alumni interviewer reached out to him via email my son hadn’t finished the Georgetown application and wasn’t sure he wanted to. It was only recently that he decided to complete the application, but without the interview.
As far as I know, if you weren’t contacted about an interview it was most likely waived because there was no interviewer in your area. This doesn’t hurt your application at all. However, if you were contacted and didn’t end up following through with it, it will probably hurt you, as interviews are mandatory for Georgetown if there is an alumni near you.
@salsrer See my last post. Also, as long as you got your application in by the due date, you are at no disadvantage. Georgetown doesn’t look at any application until the day after the due date, as far as I know. That’s how all colleges that don’t use rolling admissions function.
I did an alum interview by FaceTime because the interviewer lived over an hour away from me.
@waitinginnh22 Wait, so just to make sure I’m understanding correctly, our interviewers hear our decisions too? I wonder what that is like for them… Must be an interesting experience and one I hope to do for whatever college I go to eventually.
@college17013 @waitinginnh22 We actually find out decisions a little bit later than applicants.
As for what it’s like, I’d wager that it’s different for everyone. Certainly interviewers can get pretty invested in the outcome if they really liked the applicant and are pulling hard for them to find their way to Georgetown.
Yes, interviewers can see which of their interviewed students were offered admission. It’s both great and heartbreaking. I have done GU interviews for about 15 years, in the NE area.
How do you know results will be available on the portal? @waitinginnh22
I am an interviewer and we received notification. I believe, however, there is a note to that effect on the website.
@sgdallas328 yes portal now says it.
In addition, decisions will also be released here your the Applicant Portal on Saturday evening, March 30 at 5:00pm EDT.
For everyone: there is an announcement on the portal that says…

In addition, decisions will also be released here on your the Applicant Portal on Saturday evening, March 30 at 5:00 pm EDT.

Could someone please post how to find the portal? It’s frustratingly difficult to locate!
@tkdqueen035 Thank you!!
What about internationals? Any idea when they email decisions?
Can we ask our interviewer for our results?? Is that a bad idea?
is anyone else just dying to know already
YES!!
Spent like 30 min at the post office today bc my informed delivery wasn’t working… honestly knowing a minute earlier makes I worth it
