Georgetown 2023 Applicants Discussion

I would send a picture as proof but it has my child’s name on it. Will say not to sound cocky but we were pretty confident about acceptance (or as confident as you can be with these things). but now see .50 postage…

How accurate is informed delivery? I’m surprised people in the DMV haven’t gotten their’s…

Hey everyone. Nothing on informed delivery here in Northern VA. I’m a little over 50 miles away from Georgetown. Technically, I’m in the area on the priority mailing map that should recieve it in one day, but barely. I applied Early Action though, and I recieved my letter on December 15th, two days after they were mailed out on the 13th. So, I’m assuming I’ll see mine tomorrow. However, like many other people, we do have one thing showing up that couldn’t be scanned. It’s probably nothing or just junk though, just thought I’d mention it because a lot of others are seeing something similar. Good luck!

I’m 5 miles from Georgetown and it’s in my informed delivery! But it’s .50

Just a thought but maybe it’s better to wait a bit longer. What if you get your hopes up due to seeing the postage cost and it turns out to be the wait list? Good luck to all.

Hopefully mine is in the mail when I come home !!!

@Mamabear33 where in MoCo are you? I’m in Olney and it doesn’t look like ours is coming today.

Chevy Chase

And we are out of town. So will have to check portal Saturday night!

I live in Bay Area, CA so I’m supposed to receive priority mail within 2 days from DC. However, when I was waiting for American University ( also same postal code as Georgetown) acceptance it took 6 days to arrive… If Georgetown experiences similar delays waiting for the portal may be a better idea

I’ve had informed delivery for a while now, and the mail that they don’t scan is usually magazines or junk.

Do they actually send them by priority mail? That seems unlikely. More likely will be first class mail which is typically 1-3 days CONUS.

What if GT is wise to the postage/informed delivery trick and decide to send every one (admitted, rejected, or wait listed) a single page $0.5 letter. Best to wait for confirmation from early letter recipients.

If I live 20 ish miles from GT, should I expect to receive it tomorrow??? This waiting process is actually driving me crazy …

Same, but this forum is keeping me from going actually insane

I thought rejection was .50 and acceptance was .65?

I am pretty cynical about the ability to read too much into the postage value. IMO, unless someone on this board knows firsthand what exactly was in the letters for accepted students vs. waitlisted vs. denied, the postage level could be for any outcome. The good news is that everyone will know soon enough.

I am hoping bulk rate is 44 cents and 50 is a good sign.

I’m kind of surprised there’s nothing about RD decisions on their twitter accounts
