Does asking for an early read hurt your admission chances?
@lexluther96 something I’ve also wondered. I know being patient Is the key to this, but I’ve always wondered what kind of hurt it would do to ask for an early read. Is Georgetown your top pick?
@Robinyoursoul It’s almost tied with UC Berkeley for me, but yes. I like the schools for different reasons. Georgetown is your top, right?
UMich wants me to commit by May 1st, and the UCs want me to by June 1st. I really don’t want to pay the SIR fees twice, which is why I asked if asking for an early reading affects our apps 
@lexluther96 Two SIR fees? Ouch! I’m in the same
predicament with George Washington U. and their fee is $800 due May 1st. I mean, Georgetown has to know that they are one of the last schools out there to give out transfer decisions, so I don’t think it would be unreasonable to ask for an early read when it starts getting close to May 1.
And yep! GU is my top pick

@Robinyoursoul I just called them right now and they said there’s nothing that I can do and that the decisions will be coming out on June 15. I’m going to email them though about an expedited decision because I don’t think that’s right since their site says decisions come out late May/early June (if I remember correctly).

I must of just talked to the exact same person. A student who didn’t even tell us the right date listed on the website. Gonna see if I can find someone to email
If i were you, i would pay the fees to GW and go there at least you have something in hand, but what about if you didn"t get into georgetown? You will lose both, so my advice is to go ah ad and pay the fees and go to the GW. The same thing for everyone who has the same case with another schools
