I just recived the same email… I’m confused, guess no one is special. When I applied last year as a sophomore trasnfer I did not receive any email like this. Maybe it’s a new thing that Georgetown wants to try out with spring transfers.

@simonlee7 management, leadership, and innovation!
My interview was waived as well. I was really hoping I could get one, I feel there is a lot that my application won’t be able to convey. Fingers crossed anyway!
Did anyone else receive an email about spring 2019 admission? I just received the following email.
"Thank you for your interest in Georgetown University and for your pending transfer application. You are being considered for Fall 2018 transfer admission but we write you today with an opportunity that has come to our attention and in which you might have an interest.
While we anticipate enrolling a Fall 2018 transfer class of approximately 150 students, we will have the opportunity to enroll approximately 40-50 transfer students for the Spring 2019 semester, starting at Georgetown in January 2019.
We are writing to solicit your interest in being considered for Spring 2019 transfer admission. At your earliest convenience, please complete this form to indicate your preferences, and we will review your application as directed.
If you wish to be considered for Spring 2019 transfer admission, we will be back in touch with you in April and May with further details.
Thank you for your interest in Georgetown and we look forward to reviewing your application for transfer admission.
Sincerely,
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
Georgetown University
I have yet to hear if my interview has been waived or if I will be receiving one. Still hoping I get to interview but thinking its not likely if I haven’t heard at this point.
Disregard my previous post… Lol. I jumped the gun and did not realize it had already been asked on the previous page. ;
@“TexasRosé_” yes, my self along with a few people from the last page all recived the email. That’s cool that they will accept more transfers for spring rather than only taking 150 for fall.
I received an email about a spring transfer as well. Perhaps it is a way for the school to accept more students. I know some universities offer alternative admittance for a later semester if the applicant was not accepted initially. But I don’t think that is the case. Is anyone considering spring enrollment?
Guys, this is awesome news. If they want to enroll 50 spring transfers, they’ll except around 80 more people.
I’m debating on accepting that Spring offer, I don’t want my consideration for Spring to take away for my chances at Fall. Is anyone actually considering that offer?
Actually, I just noticed that if you select the option that says you would like to be considered for both Fall and Spring, it lets you select a suboption that indicates which term you prefer most.
@SmartJarhead I feel the exact same way as you. I am debating it but also worry it could hurt my fall chances. I think this is just my anxiety and fear speaking though. ha.
I received the email too, just like everyone else.
It’s definitely interesting. I would love to know how many of the ~2100 applicants would choose to be considered for Spring. Then I wonder if the Spring applicant pool would be more or less competitive (not selective, but competitive) than the Fall applicant pool.
Also a bit a bummer to see that they will only take ~200 transfers next year instead of the 364 they took last year. @TerrierNation Why do you think there will be 80 more transfers accepted? I don’t think so.
@yiskers
They didn’t say they are looking to accept 150 students this year. They said enroll. When accepting students, they consider yield, or the percentage of accepted students that enroll. According to the CDS, last year they accepted 263 students to enroll 161. Accordingly, for a target enrollment of 200, we can expect them to accept 326 students.
@yiskers well they have room to take that many transfers. They always accept more than they can actually take. They account for those who will deny their acceptance. I believe that is where @TerrierNation predicted 80 more transfers. 40-50 spots for spring will probably add close to 80 they choose to offer in admissions.
Has anyone asked whether admissions will accept a midterm report? I had to complete one for the CommonApp and it reflects well on me so if they’ll take it!
Just had my interview last night. Went very well - it was completely conversational & we happened to go over my resume because my interviewer did exactly what I want to do :~). I guess it might be a little late for this advice but just be yourself and enjoy the conversation!
@TerrierNation @“TexasRosé_”
I see! I stand corrected. That does seem good for us!
Do you guys know if gtown transfers AP credit? (My current university accepted a lot of my ap credits so i was hoping gtown would at least accept some of it based on their score requirements)
