That takes like 2 seconds to Google…
thank you so much for taking the time to comment such a helpful message! @Stewartson obviously i was asking b/c on their website for transfer of credit they dont mention AP or IB at all: https://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/applying-georgetown/transfer/credit
@parisgeller Hey, I’m sure they take AP credit. On the application, there was a portion where you could list AP and IB. If you didn’t or have questions call the admissions office. I’ve had to ask a few questions regarding my app and they are super helpful.
Thanks! @SmartJarhead
I know my stats are so far below you guys’ credential, but it’s worth a try
University of Maryland, 1st year Undecided Engineering
GPA: 3.1/4.0 (16 credits, first semester; I’m confident I can do much better on this second semester)
H.S GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1350 (Math 700, Reading 650)
Have applied to GU as a senior in HS, and my dad went to GU for his Master Law degree
Do I have a shot? haha looking at you guys’ stellar grade, i’m scared now
does anyone know if Georgetown asks for mid-year reports or final spring grades for transfer students in order to reach a decision for admission?
@lolowowo I don’t think they ask for midterm reports. I have not found any forms for midterm grades on their website and it was not mentioned in any part of the application process.
The admission office says that they will accept the Common App midterm report if you wish. I would submit it if you think it would reflect well on you.
@yiskers Thank you for sharing that information! That is great to know!!
In case any of you want to upload your Mid-Term Report, I emailed admissions to ask about that and they said you can upload it by filling out this form: https://uapply.georgetown.edu/register/applicationchange
I sent in my midterm report through their application change form and they accepted it. I also had my interview a few weeks ago and it was not bad at all, very conversational and informative.
I am looking to transfer to the SFS from my state school as a sophomore applicant.
HS gpa: 3.33 (weakest part of my application)
College gpa: 4.0 and 4.0 midterm grades
ACT: 33
Extracurriculars: 2 internships, a lot of college and high school clubs and activities.
I know my high school gpa is low but how much do they weight that?
Good luck everyone!!
Hey, I just found this thread and wanted to introduce myself. I’m applying to Georgetown for the Justice and Peace Studies major. I wrote about my experience attending a party at the U.S. embassy in Rwanda and meeting the ambassador as an inspiration. I’m currently attending a small liberal arts college in Minnesota, therefore no interview which is really annoying. So far I’ve been accepted to Tulane and Boston University with NYU’s decision coming out in a few weeks so I’m pretty worried that my deadlines to enroll at those schools are June 1st which is when Georgetown is supposed to be coming out with decisions. I don’t want to end up having to risk losing a deposit if I got accepted a few days later.
@AnikaandAj Welcome to the thread! I’m not sure if those schools do this, but you might be able to contact admissions and ask for a deadline extension? I’ve heard of people doing that in the past
@AnikaandAj I believe June 1st is the latest deadline for Georgetown. If you look at last years thread, notifications for transfer admissions started going out late April and through May. It seems that the majority of people who did not hear until very late May/ June 1st were rejected or waitlisted.
Got the official email today that my interview was waived Really was hoping to land one!
Hey guys, I am new here. I was kinda wondering, have any of you sent your resumes through the “GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION CHANGE”? Do you think that’s allowed?
@jerrythemoose I haven’t sent a resume
When you applied they gave you the option of giving them a resume. You could try to do it through application change, but they may just be annoyed you did not submit it when they asked.
I was wondering if anyone else has updated them on recent achievements? For example I was just elected onto the Executive Board in our Student Senate on campus and I picked up another job! I was just wondering if that’s worth informing them of
@larbear I would definitely tell them about those! I don’t think it would hurt your chances at all and those both seem impressive, so might as well (Congrats on both btw) What major did you apply as?
