I have been watching this thread and others for a long time. I think as of now no one here got accepted to SFS. I heard that SFS's acceptace rate is 13% whereas the college and other schools are around 20% for transfer.

I assume that the adcom is more careful in deciding who is going to get accepted or rejected.

From last year's thread, it seems that SFS applicants start hearing back after mid-may....

yeah i didn't mean to brag or anything just seeing a 17 page thread really made me grateful to be a Georgetown student and appreciate just how highly this school is regarded by many...given that I might not get into any of the schools i applied to transfer to and that I may not leave even if i do.. it was comforting in a manner. Many of my problems have been specific to me and probably would not affect any of you but regardless I would rather not speak negatively of a school many are extremely excited to attend publicly.. if you PM me I can share my thoughts though

I just got a call from Gtown today. (My HS transcript had been lost or something.)
There are rounds of decisions. My group is up, and they're trying to decide for Thursday, but if they don't receive my high school transcript in time, they'll push me into the next group. Thought you guys would be interested.

Sdsurferchica - the size of the mail is standard sized envelope that normally cost 41 cents to mail. The way you can discern it from a rejection letter is that the acceptance letter envelope is puffy and fat. Hope that helps.

sfkef, thanks for the info. would you mind saying what school/major you applied to? I called gtown today and was surprised to find out that admissions officers are assigned by school (and in the case of the college, major as well). So, I'm just wondering if the rounds are all people applying to the same school and similar major (in the case of gtown college). thanks!

so i just looked through this thread to see where people have been accepted. All of the acceptances except one have been to the College, with the other one to the NHS. So no one from either the SFS of the MSB has heard yet

yea...I called Gtown in the middle of April asking if they had received everything, and the guy I spoke to was a little huffy. "We'll contact you if anything is missing," he said.

I had my HS fax it over today. My school was very organized with multiple college counselors, and they told me that they had sent it off months ago. The woman who called me was pretty apologetic, so I really think Gtown lost it.

I was also asked to have my professors send unofficial current grade reports. Hopefully this is a good sign!!

Elgguj, you're right about individuals being assigned to majors. There's one person who assesses your file before it goes up before the committee. My file has been looked over, but is apparently going up for the committee on Thursday.

^ ditto. and im tired of calling their admissions office and being given the complete run around (i just want to know when I'll hear...I have to make decisions on deposits, college visits, etc.) and im a little sour on the one person i talked to who couldnt offer me any info AT ALL about my app or when I'll hear back or my chances except to reiterate to me my college and my GPA and tell me that I'm not a throwaway applicant and that, when I referred to applications to other schools and deposits, i'll probably get in somewhere. umm thanks? oh well, GW's in a better location anyway. but yeah, im with ya blackholezz lol

I got into the college as a biochem major with pre-med intentions. I kept looking at the envelope, trying to determine if was fat enough to be an acceptance. The postmark date was May 5th.

Hey I really echoe eluggi's senitments. I have always been happily suprised at the friendliness of Georgetown's admissions office but now it literally seems they are just making things up. I spoke with an admissions officer two days ago who told me the final round of decisions was being made this week but that letters would be mailed on the 23rd. Now we have a case (congragulations tennis, not to hate on you lol) where someone was clearly accepted earlier this week and was just informed, dispelling the May 23rd theory. Also, when I spoke with the office last week, they told me most decisions should be out by May 15. Then they told me that all clear yes or no decisions were already mailed out and that the mail would stop untill the 223rd. gahhh I want Georgetown so badly and have for so long but this is exacerbating this process haha. I just want to know when lol

just wondering: for those of you who have talked to admissions, have you talked to your specific admissions officer or just one of the people who works in the office?
