"then they told me that all clear yes or no decisions were already mailed out and that the mail would stop until the 23rd"

thats BS. you are probably talking to some kid like us who works in the admit office for workstudy. calm down. they review applications based upon prospective major in groups. in all likelihood they havent gotten to your group yet, nor have they gotten to mine.

georgetown allows themselves until june 1st, i dont know where this may 15th stuff came from.

She didn't say "I'm your admissions officer," but I looked her up on the website, and she's an "Admissions Officer."

Everyone else, please stay optimistic!
Elgguj and others, it's probably GOOD that you didn't hear from them. It means that everything is fine with your file.
We're all just going crazy with this wait...Soon it'll all be over!

i agree that probably everything is in order and that most of us will get good news (this is CC after all!)...but that doesnt make the treatment from the admissions office justified. They have been impossible to deal with to the point of just being rude. You don't expect to get anywhere when you call admissions, but the conflicting answers we've been getting go beyond that.

Also, casey...i'm a history major and havent heard. If they group by majors, we might be in sort of the same general group. Just guessing though. Also...an observation....it seems like those getting into the college are all into math and science majors. So it really may be that this is entirely due to major.

and crog, if it takes till the 223rd of may, i quit :)

patience is a virtue, kids. we will all know soon enough. i'm sorry the admissions office has been a pain, but in the end there's nothing really to be done. you can complain, but that won't change anything. or maybe they'll just reject you right then and there -- then you'll have your answer.

haha thanks blackmambakatana. or maybe gtown stalks this thread and will reject me for posting a ridiculous number of times per day? in all fairness though, i promise i wouldnt post so much if i werent putting off much lamer things. probably everyone here can relate to that lol

I know of one person who needed early notification and was told on Monday that she was rejected. Thus, some rejection decisions must have already been made. I need early notification because I will be out of the country all summer and was told I would find out tomorrow. I was shocked to see some have heard already, as I told them I needed early notification during March. Hope this isn't a bad omen...
And Casey, I am also a philosophy major.

got early notification today over the phone (combo of reasons...the same reasons why everyone else here needs to know, so everyone should def call/email/be persistent)...anywayyy...im in. so i guess i have to take back my criticism of the admissions office for being impossible to deal with lol. but yeah, it seems like theyre ready to give early notifications...so call up, get your admissions officers email, and email them with your situation. good luck all

congratulations Elgguj, you must feel great. I just did the same, so I guess I'll have to wait for the reply email. I'm sorry crog..hopefully the waitlist will work in your favor.

Congrats...yeah they are willing to give decisions, as they are done, you just need to speak with the right person. Good Luck to everyone, I am rotting for you

Congratulations Elgguj! Is the committee only looking at the college applicants so far? Just wondering if it's worth it for SFS and MSB applicants to call in if our applications haven't even been touched yet. Good luck everyone! Hopefully we will all hear something soon! I'm sorry Crog359 - maybe you're at the top of the waitlist!

SDSurferChica...worth a try, but I have to say I wasnt able to get anywhere until today, when all the sudden I got two email responses to one email I sent yesterday and one I sent days ago (I sent two because they gave me two different admissions officers names and I wasnt sure why). It was weird that they both responded today, within like an hour of each other...so I'm assuming the admissions officers just don't talk until they have something to say. So, definitely try calling up...but it seems like SFS and MSB havent heard yet so don't worry if they don't talk to you right away.

good luck northerngrl...let us know what happens!
