i havent heard anything yet at all... email or phone.. should i worry??

Me neither, but I don't worry.

you should absolutely not worry. when i got in, i called them, they told me letters wouldn't be out til either this week or next, that it was technically an "unofficial" acceptance. if i hadn't called i'd be in the same boat as you, there is no reason to worry

just seconding what BK said

They are contacting people over the weekend? Godsend--you got a call on a Saturday?

i dont get what the deal is with godsend...he/she posted on the georgetown board at the beginning of may that they turned down HYPS for georgetown. doesnt make sense if this person is a transfer...who knows. but no, as far as anyone on this board knows, they are not making personal phone calls. you either harrass them and find out early, or wait for your letter. a lot of us have elected to harrass them ;)

Elgg, who in the right mind would turn down Gtown for HYPS? It was a joke.

The pres didn't call me either. I got accepted Wednesday via mail.

My cc has a "preferred consideration program" with Georgetown cause we sexy.

Just wondering if anyone got official mail from SFS yet. I need to find out this week since I will be studying in London all summer. Does anyone know the email of SFS admissions officer? Or should I just call and ask? I have emailed the admissions office twice already and just don't want to bother them too much...

call them ()

My letter said 200 spots for 1600 applicants. Is it me or did it go down considerably?

do u guys think sat's matter a lot?

what's the lowest sat here?

if ur a junior transfer i mean...

Another institution expects to hear from me soon. I will call Georgetown tomorrow. I called last week and found out a part of my application was missing.

uhh godsend...theres really very little way of picking up on whether people are joking online. sorry i didnt catch that.

200 spots does not mean 200 acceptances. they probably accepted around 300, assuming a 2/3 yield or something. that means about a 18.75% rate of acceptance, which is on par with freshman admissions this year.

SATs matter to Gtown, esp if you are a freshman applying for soph transfer, but less so for soph --> junior.

i just got rejected from cornell :( im gona call gtown on monday. what number shld i call?

18.75% is pretty low for Gtown. I guess this year's competition is higher. I have no idea where i stand with SFS at the moment so i am not sure what to expect. I am a junior transfer from top 5 liberal arts college with 3.6 GPA. Never took SATs but ACT was 32 in HS. Georgetown's the last one i am waiting for and the only one i actually want to go to. Just hate the waiting part...

rejected from georgetown msb, I guess I am surprised.. It bothers me because I really have no idea what else I could have done, I really went out of my way to go visit the school, get midterm grades, etc.

I always believed that it is the students that define the university not the prestige of the university that defines the students. In my case, I just want to leave because my potential is being reduced every day here on campus. It is such a rarity, where I go, to find people with enthusiasm and motivations to actually use their minds to reason or for other endeavors. I was hoping to leave after this semester.

Now, I will wait to hear from stern.

hey katakashii how did u find out?

i'm sorry katakashi11. your stats were good too. now i'm scared :(
