**Georgetown University Offical Transfer Thread 2008**

Whoops! I guess jgboggs is getting conflicting responses!
Elgguj--I was contacted by email. Perhaps that was it. I also called the office and asked about an interview.

I wasn't offered an interview. But, having applied and been waitlisted the previous year may have influenced that.

I just want to get a letter at this point. I don't even care if I am accepted or not.

Why aren't all transfer applicants offered interviews?

because they don't have interviewers in all locations most likely. i live in nyc so it was really easy for them. they probably have less interviewers than you think, so if you don't live somewhere convenient, you don't get offered an interview. it was also done by where you live, not where you go to school, which was kind of annoying

Transfers are offered interviews if there is an alumnus/alumnae in the applicant's geographic region. It's frustrating because even if you want one, it's not something you can request, you just kind of have to wait for them to come to you if there's someone in your area. The interview by no means hurts (assuming you come across well in the interview), especially if your transcript or board scores aren't as competitive, as it gives you an opportunity to have a more complete portrayal of you to the committee. But, that does not mean that interviews are essential or get anyone in. I know a number of people who have transfered into Gtown without interviews. If you didn't get one, don't sweat it.

if you've appplied before and received and interview you wont get one either. i interviewed last year when i was extended waitlisted. i was not interviewed this year and i got in.

I asked for an interview, but never got one. Gung-ho!

I asked twice.

Gung-double-ho

Accepted! SFS. No interview.

azzip - did you receive notification of your acceptance into SFS by post or by contacting the admissions office? Thanks and congratulations!

I really want to call, but getting a rejection notification over the phone is kinda cruel. Plus, they wouldn't release decisions over the phone anymore right?

SDSurfer, I received my notification in the mail.

waitlisted to MSB...damn

Alhamdulillah! I am accepted to the Georgetown College!

Muhsan99: Congratulations. You also got into Stanford... I guess that's where you're heading...

I'll go to Gtown if I get in..
Two years ago, some girl from my college also chose Gtown over Harvard, Yale, Columbia, etc.

I called. Rejected! SFS.

I'm off to Vanderbilt next year! Would have been a hard choice between the two. Good luck!

bahhh i still have yet to receive a letter :(

Accepted to SFS! I still can't believe this because my stats weren't good.

Georgetown has been my dream school for years!

HoosforGTown, It really depends on couple of factors. How much financial aid I will be awarded and how long more it takes for me to get a degree from them. A friend of mine was disappointed that he would have to take 4 years of classes for him to get the degree he wants from Columbia and Georgetown, even after his 2 years of CC. When it comes to financial aid, I will take it all. Even if it was, lets say five thousand short, I won't be able to continue. Hopefully, they are generous :)
