**Georgetown University Offical Transfer Thread 2008**

but thanks

I have yet to hear. I'm guessing waitlisted or rejected.

Hmmm lets not give up Sachmoney, you never know right? I'm assuming it's because of our location. I live in Washington state, so I'm guessing its taking time because of it... well i hope lol... anyone heard from the 15th batch?

I live on the east coast....

As of 9:02 AM, EST--
"We're still finalizing decisions, but all of the letters should be sent out by the beginning of next week"

Really appreciate the info idigthebungee thanks~!

just a question to anyone that may know financial aid: gtown gave me minimal financial aid (only workstudy & loans - and wants a family contribution of $37K) my mom makes under $60,000/year but we have quite a bit of money saved from a malpractice lawsuit/father's life insurance but that's supposed to last my mother and our family an entire lifetime i.e. we look too good on a fafsa/css to qualify for a lot of aid. is it likely would the financial aid office revise their decision in light of these circumstances?

so if we have not heard yet should we assume rejection?

Rejected! - MSB - Mcdonough.

3.73 on 80 credits.

mixtec, did you call?

ryan2288 - yes. I told them my summer session is starting from Monday so I need to know whether I got into MSB, so I can plan what to take.

has anyone accepted to the college gotten their transfer credit evaluations? oh and if you're going to gtown as a transfer, join the facebook group- Georgetown transfers 2008

I haven't gotten the transfer credit evaluations yet either. Well, i still need to send my final transcript... Yes, Join the FB Group!

I called today. I do believe the rest ( those haven;t received any letter yet) is all reject letter. You can ask and call them for your own status. And Kim said they only accept 35 students this year. Then... you know what chance you have la..
3.99 GPA with Strong internship and champions. Rejected

i really doubt they only accepted 35 this year. they usually accept a bunch, and i think we established that the acceptances this year were on par with previous years

isthisit - so this means that the average GPA was 3.7-3.8. Then why was I rejected? I had strong Ec'S AND 80 credits + 16 in progress from a CC and a 3.73 GPA

admissions are half luck. all of these schools are getting a bunch of qualified students, most of whom fall into the general stats like you and i. they can only take a portion of that pool so they cut down the pool until it's the group they can take for transfers. who knows if there is any fair rhyme or reason to the last part of this process. i had all the stats for penn and didn't get in.

anyway i'm sorry that you were rejected. good luck wtih the rest of your results!

Still haven't received my rejection letter.

^ Ha, neither have I. It's pathetic how long they make you wait.

Nor have I.
Anyway, I think it's too late; I've already paid tuition in full to another college.
