Georgetown University Transfer 2019

@qwertyu123 ,I don’t think so - and I wouldn’t sweat it.
Just got accepted to AmericanU, my safety. Fingers still crossed for Gtown. It would be great to go from a depolyment to campus in a few months time!

@qwertyu123 American U does rolling admission? I applied and didn’t get an email for the portal and it’s been over a week.

I meant @Redacted1

I can’t see a downside to submitting midterm grades if they are good, especially if the school says you can.

@amaliep How do you send the mid-term report? Do you send an email of a scanned copy or mail it? Thank you

I think you just scan it and send it in an email to the transfer email address.

Does the admission office mention anywhere that they accept the midterm report?

I have all A’s for my mid-term report, but I am not sure if I should submit it because it feels like I’m telling them that I applied to other schools. Do you guys think I should submit it?

I don’t think you need to worry about that. Schools tend to know you are applying to more than one place. It would be silly to apply to only one.

@amaliep For transferring it’s probably a bit different. Especially if you’re already applying from a good school. I only applied to transfer to GU because I’m not going to leave DC and I’m already at a good school for my major.
That beings said if they don’t ask for it I don’t see a need to send mid term grades. Just follow the directions and relax

My son called and was told to send the midterm grades if they were available.

I made a phone call to the office as well. But they said all they need is my transcript from the fall semester. No need to submit midterm reports. This is weird. @novicemom26

@qwertyu123 They don’t need midterm grades. You’re good. I highly doubt GU told anyone to send midterm grades if they were available. If they wanted them then they would ask for them. They might have told someone they can send them if they want, but they wouldn’t expect applicants to send in materials that they don’t even mention as optional. As long as your checklist is all green then you’re good

@qwertyu123 I should clarify. GU did not suggest that my son needed to send them at all. He just told them that he had the grades available and asked if he should send them and they said to go ahead and do so. His midterm grades were strong, with good comments, so he wanted to send them. Just adds to the record, but certainly not at all necessary. I don’t think not sending them would count against you in any way.

@novicemom26 Thanks for letting me know. So did your son submit the common app midterm report to georgetown? also, where did he submit it?

Just wondering, when they send out decisions, is it by email or letter?

faaat bump ^^

@patrice007 I’m not 100% sure, but it seems like email based on previous threads (at least those that received decisions in the earlier waves)

@qwertyu123 He submitted the common app midterm report to the email GU provides for sending additional information.

Yeah, @polyscidreamer , it is rolling. I didn’t even make a profile ‘eagle’ account, I just got the acceptance email
