@Redacted1 You got accepted to Georgetown already? I thought we would hear back right before june 1st…
@wantstogotoharvd I think they’re talking about American University, not Georgetown
@wantstogotoharvd Redacted1 is talking about AU, but people actually usually start getting decisions late April for GU. They just say June 1 because it gives them plenty of time, and people are still getting decisions around that time. Based on threads from previous years, it seems that the closer to June 1 it gets, the more likely you’ll get a denial/waitlist, however, there are some acceptances sent out around that time too
@wantstogotoharvd According to last year’s thread, 3 CC users were accepted on 4/25 (I think that was a Wednesday). Another user reported getting in on 4/27. It seems it’s somewhat organized based on major/school, and there can be more than one wave in the same week. As opposed to many other schools
Hey everyone! I was accepted to NYU last Thursday and have a 2 week deadline to respond to my admissions offer. I emailed GU to ask if they could release my decision early, and they asked me to contact my transfer committee chair and to include description of my situation and proof of the deadline. In case anyone else finds themself in the same situation— I’m still waiting on a response to the email I sent to the chair!
@taylor99 First off, congratulations! Would love if you could keep us updated on what Georgetown says in response to your early read request.
I recently updated my resume and made it look a lot nicer and more professional. Would it be a bad idea to send my updated resume to Georgetown? The content is pretty much the same but it looks more professional.
@falconic I would think that if the content is the same, you don’t need to send it. But trust your gut-- if its something that you are proud of, send it!
@taylor99 Who is your/ the transfer committee chair? I’m in the same boat, pending an AU deposit.
Break ——
I kinda wanted to post an updated resume with updated publications that I’ve had published- but like others have said - it probably won’t hurt but don’t sweat it.
An “application proof” was just posted on my application portal. I noticed a couple of errors on the PDF, nothing too major. Should I contact them anyway?
@lolhalp I saw the same on mine that I know I didn’t make at all. I say call them anyways just to double check
yea on the application proof, none of my ap scores are shown
When can we expect the first wave of Georgetown Decision?
Did anyone reach out to Georgetown about errors on their application proof? If so, what did they say?
What kind of errors are people seeing? Is it in the essays, scores, general info, etc?
@summit3 I don’t think your ACT scores even show in your proof. Mine don’t.
@kcasssuu From what I’ve seen and been read into, last week of April.
@hopefulhoya19 FWIW, if you see an error, fill out the error/ submission form, and have your error(s) fixed. I don’t think it is a big deal at all, per my previous posts.
Can I ask where folks are seeing this transfer applicant proof? I used to be able to log in to the portal but now it looks like they took the log in page away and I can’t see how to get into the system? Any info much appreciated…
@skyblueforever Just look for the email they sent you when you completed your app and click on the link
ahh ok thank you so much!
@anatomygeek34 , Anything is possible, understand that Georgetown takes the whole person, holistic, view. Yet, understand that your GPA is below the average - but the average is just that, an average.
@JordanBelfort1 , it probably doesn’t hurt, but doesn’t mean too much. This is all my opinion, but think of how many rather awkward and still developing young persons, whose communication skills aren’t up to par. I feel that a botched interview, due to stress, lack of communication skills, etc wouldn’t end someone’s GU dreams - you feel me?
@wantstogotoharvd , join the club.
