Google Bold Internship

anyone from Canada hear back yet?

Haven’t heard anything back yet, I’m going to move on with my life lol.

Hey!!

I hope that everyone who applied is extended an interview. I received an interview email earlier this week. I am really nervous about the interview process. Does anyone know what type of questions they will be asking? Stats about me-Attend UNC, lots of EC and several leadership roles, 3.6 overall GPA with a 4.0 in major. Also, the 3400 that was referenced earlier…is that total applicants or just interviewed?

You should be hearing soon. I applied on December 31st and received an email on Monday. Good Luck!!!

OH MY GOD GUYS I GOT THE INTERNSHIP!!! I’m so excited! Good luck to everyone else.

total applicants

Nice! :)

Agreed

Congratulations!!! Could you tell us about the interview process?

yoona9 Dont worry there’s always next year! and ivey12 I haven’t heard anything either. Maybe they are taking longer on the Canadian Applicants.

huskie24: You are a ■■■■■■■■ liar.

Yeah, who knows…I’m guessing they haven’t started extending offers yet.

i thought huskie was lying too, but I was wrong about brasiliansurfer so I just gave him/her the benefit of the doubt.

btw, isn’t yoona a canadian applicant?

I find it hard to believe that offers would be extended before everyone is even notified about whether or not they’re getting an interview.

Why @LonghornDan?

I agree I thought they weren’t extended offers until they interviewed everyone they wanted to and then like toward Feb. would be giving offers.

@SeriousNoSuit

Because it wouldn’t logically make sense. They would want the BEST people. Unless they have reviewed all applications and interviewed all applicants, how do they know who the best are? Unless the person has some serious credentials (i.e. 4.0 at Harvard or something nuts like that) it wouldn’t make sense to hire them before they know what they have in other candidates.

Perhaps, if we didn’t stress out about the process so much, people wouldn’t be tempted to ■■■■■ :p

I can see that, but when you have 100s of interns to hire, it makes sense to take good people when you find them - I can see both sides.

@serious - you want the best people out of a pool of applicants, not just good, and you can only find the best by interviewing potentially good applicants and THEN picking the best.

The thing is though, Google does so much recruitment and hiring, that they know what is " Google Material" and what isn’t…so they are confident in their hiring decisions even having to compare applicants of the same pool

I guess none of us will know until one of us gets an actual offer :p
