Ok kitnkat03 you probably have a pop up blocker on that is making the window not coming up try turning your pop up blocker off from your browser or try holding down control (ctrl on your keyboard) and then click on the link to open the activity center and it should launch if it does not try holding down shift and then click the link also, make sure all the pop up blockers are turned off and if you have any 3rd party tool bars make sure there pop up blockers are turned off… Next you could have spyware do a spyware and virus sweep for your computer and try again… I was trying to access my activity center for GW at school and it flashed just like you said but when I hit cntrl or shift I was able to bypass the pop up blockers… I hope these help

cheers

so will this be the week for us or what? haha

I hope so!! keep your fingers crossed

haha will do, this process has been so longgggg

ugh tell me about it I hope we find out next week

i was just looking at last years thread and a lot of them found out may 13th… i hope that’s the same for us!!

others found out in june… booo

Just called the guy told me decisions are being sent out as they are made, some have been sent out already. You’ll get an email and a letter. Most us should have a decision within a week or two.

The wait is physically painful!

Watch - they’ll make it worse. I bet the email just says “A decision has been made regarding your admission. Notification of our decision is in the mail.”

Then they make you wait a few more days to find out one way or another. Uggghhh. I’m usually an optimist…

no you can find out after the email they tell you to check your GWU portal or whatever.

Anyone here apply as a business major and also apply to AU? I got into AU already and feel I have a good chance with gwu as well so I’m trying to compare/contrast the business program at each school and haven’t found a lot of huge differences.

I applied for business as well haven’t heard from AU yet but was told I would find out this week…I think GWU has a newer building haha, haven’t seen or visited AU or their campus but have seen GWU h

I got into American, but I’m not a business major. BUT I’m sure you two will get in!
AU’s campus is BEAUTIFUL. but I really like how GW’s is still city like.

i’m dying. I check the portal every 20 min. haha

Do you prefer GWU to AU? I am from southern california and couple hours from LA and SD I live in a more resort town, but I really like GWU’s campus how it is three blocks from the white house and I enjoy the city feel, plus NW is the only place you really wanna be in DC anyways.

@rcwhite - I’m from Vegas so I’m coming from the SW too. I think Au and GWU both have their pros and cons and I like the idea of both a full campus and urban campus. Both schools have newer business buildings with trading rooms and similar student orgs related to business. One is higher in BW rankings, one is higher in usnews. I’m trying to base a decision on the quality of the academics and recruiting and am not sure how I’ll make a decision which I’ll need to make soon I imagine.

Thoughts?

Well just got my packet from AU 5 minutes ago, so that feels good :). BW didn’t even rank American this year did they? Which honestly has played a role in my personal choice of liking GW better but also I visited GW so thats probably why I am also biased. I just want to choose the school that has the most to offer, networking, post grad job opportunities etcetera. So looks like I will be reading up to see which is better.
What are your thoughts on the schools?

AU wasn’t ranked since not enough surveys were returned to BW or something, I’m not entirely sure but they were #28 last year. Rankings are really subjective anyway…

What sold you on the business school at GW specifically? What did you learn on the tour?

Yeah that is what I thought for BW 1/3 of the ranking is the student or alum review.
Not much I took the regular walk through with all other prospective undergrad’s. The building was nice, I like GW’s location, the dorm’s are some of the best in the country, I like the abilities to intern at all different places from capital hill to non profits, I like how the IMF is literally on campus, probably hardest to get an internship at, they have trek to wall street I think or trek to NY where they take you to NYC to network and have functions where CEO’s will come and talk and what not. Class sizes 75% are 25 ppl or smaller if you have a class of over 50 you break down to smaller groups after with the TA’s…I think or they do something with the students after. There were other things as well that I can’t recall at this moment

Well hopefully if admitted we can speak to some current business students to get a better perspective.

Yeah true true. I know someone from my high school that attends GW but he his major is international relations, but I’ll ask him if he knows anything about the business program.

I asked a gwu grad friend of mine to see if he knew any business undergrad students as well. It can’t be that hard to find one I’ve been talking to a business major from AU off on CC and they’ve had nothing but good things to say about Kogod.
