GWU Transfer Thread 2010

No! Where did you hear the news from?

I didn’t hear anything.

i called today and they told me that some decisions went out today. they also said their on a rolling basis, meaning the earlier to submitted your app to gw, the earlier this week you should be expecting an answer. the admissions guy said that he “promise[s]” that i will get my decision this week and i didn’t give him my id#, so im guessing everyone should be expecting something this week. for the life of me, i dont understand the point of sending out the decisions on a rolling basis within one week.

So this is the week people, finally!!

The calm before the storm……

do we need to wait until after 5 their time like previously mentioned on this forum before we expect an email, or anytime throughout the day?

@rcwhite - No idea. I’m sure the email is probably automatically sent out whenever a decision is rendered.

i called again today and there’s been a change of plan. there will be no emails going out, all decisions will be going out through mail.

AHHHHHHH!!! This is driving me nuts!!!

so they are mailing them then this week gits91?

thats what they told me, but everyday i call they give a different answer…theres no coherence in that office whatsoever

Seems like miscommunication and total lack of efficiency in the workspace with these people.

haha…maybe the admissions office work-study folks are monitoring our forum for answers  that would explain the RUMINT

Ha… RUMINT… Nice :)

I’m a wait-list, not a transfer, but I feel the same way about the GW admissions office. My cousin (also wait-list) and I called a half hour apart and got different non-answers to our questions. Maybe those who know don’t share with work-study folks manning the phones. Frustrating to say the least. Oh, and the clowns on this site spreading the RUMINT don’t help…

I am at the point where I need the RUMINT to distract me…every time someone has a new story from the admissions office, I get a little excited that at least they agree on one thing…decisions should be this week…we call that corroborated reporting, right ShaunMartin?

I concur. Perhaps, the bona fides on this blog are spreading the wrong scuttle butt. EEI is SNAFU!

ok i just got off the phone with some lady in the gwu admissions office. she said that we will be notified through the mail (not through the online application status thing) and that they were stuffing and mailing letter as we speak.
and that it will be sometime this week. or when ever that letter gets to your house

wow…love it…awesome…You’d think technology would be easier than stuffing and stamping letters.

So are we going to get a thin little envelope for both denials and acceptances? And then get a big one later if you are accepted?

By the way spotter - I love your qualifying statement… “some lady in the gwu admissions office” - fantastically accurate description! :)

I have the privilege to say that Transfer Acceptance packages are indeed in the mail.

I just received mine. Good luck to everybody else!
