Yes, I agree. It is with a morsel of regret that I will not be attending there next year.

Oh, in terms of academic qualifications, you are far from mediocre.

Oh, in terms of academic qualifications, you are far from mediocre.

^ At least he’s humble :)

I’m torn between doing Pre-Med and Environmental Studies (maybe both, or maybe a more practical concentration/major), and I don’t know if I’ll have time to explore both options fully if I have to complete a big wad of core requirements.

@happysunshine: Yep. That’s exactly why I love posting at CC, like having companions for a long, winding journey.

Guys, at least most of you know what your majors are, hahaha.

^ I certainly do. It’s most likely going to be German, with a secondary field in political science. Do you at least have some idea of what you’d intend to study?

Well, I’m kinda leaning towards humanity or politics…Or worse, laws. :D

^ You might be interested in Harvard’s Government department/concentration then… it’s one of the most popular ones on campus. When I said ‘political science’, I was referring to this department too lol.

That means we’ll have high competition against thousands other applicants.

Oh, or philosophy,. ;)

^ I don’t think Harvard admits its students by popularity of major. In fact, on the Common App supplement, the majors aren’t specified and you have to choose between the general areas of “Humanities”, “Social Science”, “Mathematics”, “Biological Sciences”, “Physical Sciences”, “Computer Science”, and probably one more thing I’m missing. So we’re both up against the same amount of competition, even though the Germanic Languages department at Harvard is easily one of the smallest. :P

Thank God. And thank fledgling for explaining. I was gonna get a heart attack.

I am wondering whether somehow one can combine humanities and sciences together.

@happysunnyshine: I’m planning to major in computer science and polysci (not necessarily at Harvard).

Undecided here. Not even really tending toward or away from anything.

The seven academic options on the application are:

[ul][]Social Sciences
[]Humanities
[]Biological Sciences
[]Physical Sciences
[]Engineering []Mathematics [*]Computer Science[/ul]

At this point, I can imagine that it would be very difficult for you to be inclined toward one academic discipline, silverturtle. You are a very multitalented individual.

^ Oh, thanks. As you are aware, I hold an extremely positive opinion of you.

Thanks! At this point next year, I am sure that you will have many favorable options to consider.

^ I’d be willing to bet that most other people on CC look up to the both of you. :)

nods
second fledgling.

I have a question:

when the application form will be available?

Thank you:)
