I am taking calculus 1 and neurobiology. I was just wondering how hard are the classes relative to AP classes?

Say, if you are going to Harvard University SSP this Summer, email me at magicstars2see@yahoo.com.

I took multivariable calculus and linear algebra. I would not recommend taking a core class. The class itself was great, but I could not master the subject in just 4 weeks. Take a “expand your mind” class.

I’m going this summmer (2009 for clarification, since this thread is very old). I’m in Mower Hall and am taking “The History of Christianity in the West” and “Reeality, Desire, and the Epic Form: Homer, Dante, and Joyce.” Any suggestions as to what to expect/bring/wimper in fear of?

If anyone is taking or has taken the history of christianity class, any idea/advice on what to expect? I can’t seem to find anything on the class or the professor (Laurence Winnie) in my hours of searching, and so am going based only on the course syllabus and description.

I’m going this year too taking Law and Psychology and Reality, Desire, and the Epic Form: Homer, Dante, and Joyce. If you are going this year you should email me at patrickhquigley@gmail.com so there’s ppl we’ll actually know there this summer.

Please reply by posting on our brand new thread:

Are YOU going? To HARVARD this summer 2009

Thanks!

I got in, but I cannot afford it even with financial aid.

I suppose if I want to go to Harvard I will just have to go to Harvard College.

I also got in but my parents and I really don’t want to pay that much. It sounds like a great program. Fortunately, I am going to the other SSP.

I got accepted too!
Its tough gathering the money so idk if ill be able to go. I am really determined tho!
so yes I added u on msn my email is prettypipit@gmail.com/email

lol

I’m going to Harvard this summer too! Im taking Law&Psychology and Journalism. Is anyone staying in Thayer Hall?

Hey,Chocolatelover30…sounds like GREAT classes. Please post something on the newer site JUST for 2009, it is: Are YOU going? To HARVARD this Summer 2009?

We already have two students taking the exact same two classes. Exciting!

On that thread I’ve also told how a student can find out exactly what their textbooks will be, hopefully ahead of time.

You can also email me at: magicstars2see@yahoo.com

Hey Streamofthots, did you get the money together to attend?

I am going to Harvard SSP this summer. I am taking Intensive Introduction to Computer Science using Java. It is a University Level course and they say it is the equivalent of AP Computer Science (the second one I can’t remember what it is), so I hope its a great course.

No schools or colleges near me offer satisfactory programming classes, and I think this ought to be fun.

I am also staying in thayer hall.

Does anyone know if we will have access to facilities, like gyms and stuff?

Thanks, this is going to be so awesome.

It says on the SSP site that we are going to have access to all of the gym facilities and libraries and all of that.

im going to SSP as well!
im living in thayer :)

Im going to SSP too!!! Im staying in Hollis Hall doing Principles of Econ - PM me if you are in the same hall/ doing the same course- Im so excited :D

I’m going to 2010 ssp!!! Ive been admitted, but I’m completely lost in which courses to take; maybe someone can give some recommendations… I’m probably taking neurobiology; what you think about that, and introduction to Jaba.

I will appreciate if someone could give me some advice =)

It is kinda funny that I posted in this a year ago, but I took An Intensive Introduction to Computer Science Using Java.

It was a real fun course (but it was 8 units). Maybe you’re looking at a different course but it was a lot of fun.

Thanksss… I am taking Great Ideas in Computer Science with Java wich is only 4 credits… so I guess its gonna be awesome!!! I cant wait to be there!!
Are the courses really intensive?

I took SSP last year! It was scary expensive, but worth every penny. I know there are a lot of people who believe that taking courses at CC is the same experience, but it’s not. There is so much diversity, and just a lot more to do in Boston!

I was in Matthews last year and took Introduction to Macroeconomics and Law & Psychology.
