Has anyone heard yet?

Yes, it happened to us, and we called and they fixed it. I would call them, the number is on the page where you try to log in.

From what I have been able to determine, after a long search, is that merit at UW is slim and doesn't really exist if you are out of state. You would have to rely on local scholarships and perhaps a local UW alumni club for $$. They say that after you are there for a year you can get departmental scholarships but we know a good student from out town that never got a penny.

Yeah I got accepted on 11/10 and it only took about 4-5 weeks to get the letter once they received everything. I haven't decided where I'm going as I am yet to apply to a few of my other top choices.

GPA (unweighted): 4.0
ACT: 27
SAT: CR-570 M-650 W-560
LOTS of extra curriculars

I want to major in nutrition, so that might be why I heard so soon?

U of M also has a really cool program for granting majors from other schools. I just filled one out for CBS because I am planning on majoring in CHE and Biochem. I do PSEO at the U of M right now, and I am wholly humbled by the intelligence of the student body. There are a lot of really intelligent kids, and a lot from out of the country. If you think you're too smart for the U of M, I would suggest thinking again.

"Your application has been reviewed and a letter was mailed. "

Does this mean i didnt get in?

You either didn't get in or you are waitlisted. I wouldn't be so blunt but I looked at some of your other posts and it seemed to be your style.

your saying i got rejected with a 3.5 and a 33 on the act? ***

I don't think you were rejected because I remember seeing that message. It was up for like a month before I got my letter (which was around 9 weeks I think) so don't worry. If you know you have the stats to get in then why stress.

Actually, if the message is that a letter has been sent and the word "Congratulations" doesn't appear anywhere in the message it won't be an acceptance. Did you get the letter? What does it say?

Yeah, post if/when you get accepted. I remember mine said what yours said, and then eventually it changed to Congratulations, you are admitted to the U of MN. Your letter was mailed Nov. 8, and then it turned into Congratulations. You have been accepted to CBS.

woah thanks sugar_sweet111, you just gave me hope, Ill be sure to post when i get the letter, the reason im so worried is this is week 9 and it just changed a week ago and i havent gotten the letter yet. grr i cant take this suspense.....

Daughter just got her admitted decision by checking her status on-line this morning.

Application received on 10/23
Application complete on 10/31
Admitted decision posted on line on 12/3 (on 12/2 it said application in review)
Letter was suppose to be mailed today.

We were surprised it took less than 5 weeks. She was admitted to the college of design. Her selected major was retail management.

Her stats: 24 ACT, 4.2 GPA (3.9 UW) 2 AP classes, lots of sports EC's & a part time job.

Hope this helps those of you who are still waiting on a decision.

^ Dang that's fast.

My application was completed 10/25 and I'm still waiting... Hopefully I'll have to wait another week or so.

Heard something interesting the other day, wondering if any of you experienced this:
A mom of an applicant to the U (1st choice CSOM) said her child received a letter from admissions saying that they are "waiting" on admitting to CSOM until after the December 15th application deadline and have all the applications in for review. She also said the letter "seemed to indicate that her child would be admitted to the U in some area" but that which one was yet to be determined. This applicant sent their app in ahead of the Sept. 15th beginning review date.

Now I KNOW from reading here that some of you have been accepted into CSOM already, so do you think this means that this student is on the edge? Thoughts anyone??? I'm just curious...:)

A girl from S1's chool received notice of acceptance directly into CSOM within 10 weeks of her application date (received acceptance mid-November). It kind of sounds like maybe they are going to compare the student to the rest of the CSOM applicant pool before they make a final decision. The stats for the girl admitted from S1's school were 31 ACT and 4.0 UW (4.24 W) GPA.

Hmm I haven't heard of UM holding all of the applications, but they do hold the students who are borderline until a later date so they can compare them with the entire applicant pool. The students who would be accepted, even at a later date, would likely get a notification within 8 weeks.

postponed at CBS

Wow some people here have pretty decent stats. Why are you aiming for UM Twin Cities?

I hope to attend the U of M's school of dentistry in the future

Yes smart people go the the U of MN. The CSOM, CBS, and IT are very difficult to get in to...as in they have a very good program
