I’m so glad that everyone is enjoying this thread. I just looked back and saw that I started it only 19 days ago and we are up to 401 posts! What a great supportive, fun group of parents and students.

I hope that everyone will continue checking in and that everyone will come back in a few months to update us on which school they choose. Let’s see how many choose Tulane!!

Re the question about whether the ad reps make the decisions… I asked our HS GC and she said they do, unless there is an app they feel needs to be escalated to a higher power in the admissions office.

Dianadwright - Around 7-10 people applied from my school, and no far none of us have heard back. My application was complete 10/7. We’re from the DC/MD area.

First post – DD submitted all on 10/29 and had the Gibson Congratulations note on 10/31 and received her letter – with a Leadership financial award – on 11/5. We are in CT. Congratulations to all. Having gone through this process twice before, I am extremely impressed by Tulane’s process. In most cases, the applicants apply wondering " which one of the schools which I believe is a good fit will want me? " with trepedation and anxiety. Tulane doesn’t wait until all of the applications are in, as other schools do, to create a competition among students. Rather, Tulane takes it one application at a tme and if there is a match, replies right away. My DD feels appreciated and acknowledged for her hard work. Her interest in attending Tulane jumped way up on her devision list.

Which is exactly why Tulane makes their decisions this way. It separates them from their peer group and between the early notification and (to many students and parents) the surprise of a substantial merit scholarship, Tulane often goes from a maybe to a very possible, and after a visit to the school a yes.

My DD’s status is finally showing as complete! I almost didn’t check it today because I checked late last nightvand didn’t think there would be activity over the weekend. What a relief! We are one step closer to finding out.

We also are from Maryland and had everything in by October 26th. No word yet unfortunately. There are 36 kids applying from our high school but none have heard.

Wow, 36! I go to a relatively small high school (about 715 kids total, 170 or so in my class). I think I am the only one who applied from my school.

NYC area definitely, but they don’t have Erica Salm Rench as their admissions officer. So I think you want to know about people that have her in particular.

Yes, anybody else have Erica? Supporting materials submitted oct 10. Part 2 of application submitted nov 6. Application complete nov 8. Hopefully I will hear soon. Sounds like once everyone else’s application was complete it took about a week?

Ya, waiting sucks. I saw one post on hear where a girl got a decision 2 days after her application was complete. I was hoping that would be my case aswell, but I guess not.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into that 2 day window. Her application may have been complete for some time but because of the problems you have all seen on Gibson, maybe they didn’t see it showing as complete until much later. 2 days isn’t impossible if there had already been a lot of communication and so the decision had essentially been made, but more likely it was really a longer time frame.

Either way, you all will know soon, I am sure.
