Calling people desperate and prententious doesn't exactly demonstrate social skill or "normalcy". Personally, I watched in amazement as my older brother's friends (former dorky brainee types) actually bloomed in college and became pretty "normal" with all the attention their fat offers got for them. As Bill Gates said, "Be nice to nerds b/c you will prob. work for one." Karma!

Hey LukasLunacy would you care to share your SAT score? =)

1380/2000 cr 740 math 640 writing 620. SAT 2= lit 700 Spanish 800 and ACT 30

I don't have anything against nerds. Being a nerd has nothing to do with being socially aware. My point was merely that a lot of people seem so boa****l and so concerned with the numbers, when there's so much more that goes into it. I understand how easy it is to feel desperate at a time like this. The wait is killing me, too. But, let's keep things in perspective. By the way, nerds and I get along just fine. In fact, many of my friends are nerds!

OK, full of boast -- it won't let me write the actual word!

Man, I wish I had a likely letter. It would "ease my mind" SO much. As it is, every day I change my mind. Yesterday: "Oh, I'm so in" and today: "Oh god, I'm going to get rejected SO BAD!"

My stats are just too all over the place to give me any certainty. Ughhhhhh.

Oo! Thanks LukasLunacy! I have similar stats. You fill me with hope! =)

LukasLunacy.. are you serious??

coolkid007: yes, yes I am serious

i received a likely letter! =) yaayy,
i did not even expect to get it at alll

Why would you bring this thread back from the dead when there is another one that is exactly the same that you already posted in? haha

He's just that excited. Can't blame him :)

sorry, i got too excited, that seems very pretentious of me but i didnt mean to come off that way
sorry again!

I'm so unbelievably excited and shocked.

But, will you choose Dartmouth over Yale?

I don't know. I'm going to go to both Dimensions and Bulldog Days. And compare financial aid packages, as that is the most important thing to me.

Ephemeral, you must be one hell of an applicant :)

I got mine today.

I got my likely letter today (btw, the letter was very strongly worded… kind of strange, but nice). I am not at all a recruited athlete.

I got mine today too! Still can’t quite get over the shock. Soo happy!
