Where are you from, adarsh?

i'm from maryland

looks like they sent out all the OOS replies tonight?

I heard both that they are all done and that they still have several thousand decisions to announce.

But it looks like they made a lot of decisions tonite.

hey congrats to those who got in
and sorry for those who didn't, esp those whom I see hanging around this forum a lot.

loneranger, just wondering since I got undeclared liberal arts, is it difficult to choose a major (i really wanted nutrition) =]

thanks u guys!
here are some of my stats:
OOS
sat: 710 m, 670 cr, 710 w
no rank
gpa: 3.8/4.4
1st choice: Natural Sciences (accepted)
2nd: Engineering

um anything else u guys would like to know?

yea kikib, don't worry about us you should be really happy ^^ ...we will be okie <3

bitesizeemma...

...what are your other choices?

yea...i guess transferring might be the only option, I was thinking about that too...i was also thinking of just going to ACC and transfer and that way tuition would be cheaper cause of residency...what do you guys think?

the only option i have is UF and I really don't want to go there...with a passion...

Well for residency you have to prove that you aren't moving just to go to school.

Either your parents would have to move, or else you would have to have them quit claiming you as an dependent.

ACC is an okay school, it is really cheap, but it's not that easy to transfer and I wouldn't risk ruining my future by not going in.

UF is a very good school. I would just stomach it for a year and then hope to transfer elsewhere. You never know, you may like it. But a UF transcript is going to look a lot better than an ACC transcript.

I didn't know they assigned OOS kids to summer freshman class.

That's arguably better than regular admission, except for the cost.

You get to spend your summer in the most fun city in the US.
You take easy classes with people who, based on your SATs and grades, aren't quite as smart, so you probably will make good grades.
You get some basics out of the way while taking an easy load.
You can take fewer hours your freshman year (or take a full load freshman year and get to chill later).
PLUS you only have class 4 days a week, which means a 3-day weekend in AUSTIN! If you are from out of state, I don't know if you quite comprehend what that means. It's amazing. Simply amazing.

I am very envious that I got regular admission. I would rather take easy classes and chill in Austin than work all summer.

Have fun!

Thanks for the advice loneranger ^^ much appreciated...UF it is then...until i try to transfer of course lol

a friend of mine got in. he is an international

theloneranger: it's comforting to hear such good things about SFC since i wasnt sure what it was about when i first saw i was admitted to it.

im not exactly oos physically. i moved to texas in august 2007. i was in cali for my freshman-junior year and in texas for this year. ut considered me oos for admissions that's about it. but other than that, im in state. :] 15 miles from austin actually.

do you get an email to notify you of your decision, or do you just find out by application status ?

i havent gotten an email yet. but i hear there is one. not sure when it comes out though. so i guess checking your application status would be the way to find out.

yea i found out by the status check.. haven't gotten email

I did not get any email ever, I just got a status check update and a snail mail letter.

And it isn't a thick package, it's a single sheet with a postcard inside.

But as far as I know you don't get an email telling you that you got in.

S did not get an email. He found out today on status check that he's accepted for summer as Liberal Arts (undeclared). He applied for film production. I guess he would have to request a transfer to that major after completing the summer session.

SAT: 1420/1600 2160/2400 (CR-760 M-660 W-740)
GPA: 3.56 uw
Homeschooled, so no class rank
Excellent EC's, essays, etc.

So I guess this is the accepted thread? Anyway, I just opened a big envelope saying that I got into Plan II! I'm an in state student and I got into UT back in November, but I didn't think I'd get into Plan II.

For people thinking of applying to Plan II, do it! I'm way below the expected 1400 SAT, so if you are go ahead and try because you may get lucky.
