haha rejected...it was expected...wait they only do accepted or rejected right? Because it says they are "unable to offer me admission at this time"...thats rejected not waitlisted?

i'm sure that means rejected. i got the same thing.

and it's okay, kikib1028. maybe by some miracle i will get into BU and get enough money to go there loll. i'm sure all will be fine in the end.

Sorry to you guys that got the rejections today...

I wonder why they sent out so many decisions all at once...and i wonder when in-state decisions will come

I officially hate the 10% rule.

^^Me, too .

As do I...

i think everyone does. hopefully future classes won't have to suffer our losses.

Wait kiki didn't you get in?

And kdm, UT doesn't use racial affirmative action in their admissions, that is a false assumption. There is socioeconomic affirmative action, but no racial or gender based AA. State legislators will argue that a high class rank makes a student qualified and thus they are perfectly capable of success.

J-dom, you're really lucky. SFC is supposed to be a blast. The courses are really easy (just freshman intro courses, or you can joke around) AND you get to spend the whole summer in Austin. It's just 4 days a week of classes, and you only take 9 hours, so have a lot of fun! Just out of curiosity, are you Texan or OOS?

Yes, but it still bothers me.

And J-Dom, you really are lucky. You are getting to get some core classes out of the way making future semester easier. And, instead of sitting at home all summer or working (which I will be doing) you be be in Austin getting a head start on the college life. So, again, congrats.

crap...i got the whole "unable to offer you admission" -.-

^You see why, Loneranger...

And I'm sorry, IB.flip. I also wish you the best of luck, and I'm sure everything will turn out great.

Awww, you all are making me soooooo sad.....

awh i'm sorry ib.flip ;/.

"After reviewing your application for admission to UT Austin, we'd like to offer you participation in the Coordinated Admission Program. Learn more about CAP and complete the online CAP agreement by the deadline if you would like to participate."

..................................

lmao don't be sad kikib1028. you should be happy that you got in. it's not completely the end of the world loll :]

I'm sad to hear everyone's status.

I realize how lucky I am to be a Texas student who worked to get a top ten rank. It stinks that so many students take advantage of the law now that it really hurts those who just barely miss the cut or are from out of state.

Maybe you all can transfer in though and join us in a year or two!

i was thinking about that if my other top school doesn't work out. are transfer admissions different from freshman admissions?

On a thread in the transfers board it says that UT discards everything you did in HS and only looks at what you did in College meaning GPA(most importantly), work experience/volunteers and essays.

nice. well i guess we'll see how it goes in the next few weeks. i'll definitely let you guys know how it goes for me, it seems like you actually care loll. thanks for all the help <3

I got into my second choice - the Cockrell School of Engineering.

My first choice was McCombs. It says nothing about my first choice - does that mean I didn't get into McCombs or have they not made a decision?
