<p>Well, the people with 800s on SATs and 5s on APs are generally the bunch that would care more and thus flock to sites such as these to guide their college search. Additionally, why would anyone waste time making up stats and then posting them? Lying, even if for one' ego, would be detrimental for one's college admission's process. I myself have very good stats (I would say), but by far not perfect. </p>

<p>There really are <em>very</em> few people with 800's on all their SAT"s, even on this board. I have only seen one in a whole year, I think.</p>
<p>I second, well third most of what's been said. Quite a few of us do genuinely have 800's on a number of our SAT's, and frankly to call of us liars based on what you 'think' is a bit extreme and quite unwarranted. </p>

<p>Lol i have 5's on my ap, but my sat arent 800's. and seriously, yes, there are some freaks out there, as well as some idiots, but please dont stereotype, its just not cool.</p>

<p>no but they are a fairly good indication of how academically smart someone is, which is (like it or not) a good indication of how smart or stupid you are.</p>
<p>The statistical improbability of an event does not mean it cannot take place. Furthermore, as many have said before, the likelihood of the scenario increases at a site like this one.</p>
<p>What would people have to gain by lying about scores on a website? With the exception of the "you made X score or above" clubs (which are not clubs, merely threads), there's nothing to gain but empty praise and rejection letters from top universities in April who will see your actual scores.</p>

<p>I certainly don't believe everyone on this board, but I do believe that CC is somewhat self-selective. Those who join generally care more about getting into college and so their scores might be higher because of that. However, as Aodh mentioned as well as the unusual number of high-scorers.. just don't believe everything you read. There are people on here with 800s on their SAT II subject tests but fail to complete sentences, use punctuation, etc. It's clear that some of them are lying, but I think most of them are not.</p>
<p>i got a 730 on my sat 2 lit, and a 720 on the sat cr section. i still dont care enough about the intraweb to spell or punctuate perfectly.</p>
