My daughter’s portal says pre-business. She met thr score and GPA but it was with a superscore that she took after she applied and updated in their system in October. So maybe it’s just delayed due to that

For those of you saying the portal is reflecting admission already, are you all seeing Admitted under the Status column? Is that how you know? D24 still says Applicant and she applied 9/10. Congrats to all those admitted already!

Mine changed from applicant to admitted this afternoon. Applied 8/9

A little confused here. IU superstores SAT/ACT for admittance. Does Kelley?

Yes status changed to admitted and there was text saying congrats on his admittance he will receive email in a week. Applied 9/17. OOS. Information Systems BSB.

Has anyone’s child on this thread been rejected or deferred by IU on the portal at this point? I have only read about admissions.

I don’t think so! Anyone? My theory is that the students that are eligible for a direct admit to a program/school are accepted and notified first. Then the next tier will be the students that need materials reviewed…like transcripts… essays…letters of recommendation…etc. Just a guess…I’m new at this!

*HELPFUL INFO FROM IU WEBSITE

If you’ve already applied
You’ll hear directly from IU Bloomington about whether or not you’ve been accepted. Here’s when you can expect to receive your decision:

  • Early action (non-binding) fall applications: January 15
  • Regular admission fall applications: March 15

Consideration for direct admission will be conducted at the point of the initial review for admission to the university. Eligible students will receive notification in their university admission decision. Academic programs that require additional steps or offer a review request/petition process will have unique processes and timelines for direct admission consideration. Students offered direct admission through these processes would receive a separate communication from the school/program.

Just for my anxiety - have there been any international acceptances yet?

Congrats to all that have received acceptances to IU! For those of you that did get your acceptance, do any of you live in Tennessee or the following counties in Indiana,
Marion (all schools in Franklin, Lawrence, Perry, Pike, Warren, Washington, and Wayne Townships)? I’m asking because we live in Tennessee, and the admissions officer who had been assigned to the area and the ones above, is no longer in the admissions department, as of Monday. My son had sent her an email in regards to a question he had, and received an automatic reply that she was no longer with admissions.
I’m assuming that this change may cause a delay in decisions for those of us in the areas listed above.

Ugh. Well that’s frustrating. Maybe email or call admissions to get clarification on the situation. Sorry about that added stress.

My son was admitted applied 9/20 and is still in review for Kelley

Have all admitted students received a text message? Curious if that is something to expect in advance of checking the portal.

My son didn’t receive a text. I just saw on this forum that decisions were coming in yesterday so he checked his IU portal and it showed admitted and that a letter would follow in about a week.

I didn’t apply for business, I applied as a merchandising major when will I hear back?

Have you heard from Indiana? If so, did your child apply to a specific major and what state are you in? I know they’ve started to roll out, but my 2024 student said they only know of a few ppl who heard. Add stats if you would be so kind, too! TY!

If you scroll up you will see some. Mostly out of state, higher stats kids so far. Some business (Kelley) and some CAS. Seems to be chronological as the kids that have heard back tended to apply in Aug/sept. My D is on the zeemee app and has seen the same. Acceptances trickle in, no email and no specific day or time so have them check the portal regularly.
We are visiting IU next week so I’ve been all over this one

My son was admitted on his portal yesterday. We are in state and he applied test optional on 9/24. Indicated a business major and did complete a direct admit appeal petition mid October. He has not heard anything about the appeal petition yet. Hopeful that decision comes soon.
