Super happy for everyone. This looks like specific admission officer pools of admission to me. Really interested to hear if Kelley petitions are being admitted direct with these admissions. That would be awesome if Kelley was moving up their timeframe.

I do not think Kelley petitions are being admitted with these admission. IMO there is no change in the process compared to last year except the delay in admission results

Based on this thread, it seems that all admitted to IU thus far that met direct admit criteria are showing as ‘business’ and those who didn’t and/or petitioned are ‘pre business’. My kid isn’t Kelley but I’ve been following and I think that’s true. Please correct me if I’m wrong (I know the portal isn’t perfect pre IU admission notice, but sure seems accurate for post IU admission reads).

Does his portal show ‘pre business’?

It’s a logical thought, however some kids that do not get into Kelley as a direct admit still have that dream. They would use their admission into the university and then try to get into Kelley as a standard admit once on campus. This scenario happens at other similar universities especially in the Big 10. UIUC, Iowa, Michigan State, Wisconsin etc.

I think they are admitted to IU, not Kelley yet. With being test optional, you’ll need optional if you didn’t already.

Ah that makes sense I have definitely not tracked the many replies here that closely on stats - appreciate you doing so! The applicants we know who have been admitted are highly concentrated in Ohio and Indiana, which tells me these admits overall are highly concentrated from a couple of of AOs. Just for anyone feeling anxious in support. I wouldn’t read anything more into this current batch.

Anyone admitted from California yet?

Has anyone not been admitted to IU or deferred admission?

Hey Jeff- I found this on the IU website and it seems updated. I read it as
students who meet the direct criteria, according to their transcripts, will likely be approved first. Students who need evaluated manually may take longer. What do you think? (I posted the link in previous post)

Consideration for direct admission will be conducted at the point of the initial review for admission to the university. Eligible students will receive notification in their university admission decision. Academic programs that require additional steps or offer a review request/petition process will have unique processes and timelines for direct admission consideration. Students offered direct admission through these processes would receive a separate communication from the school/program.

Makes practical sense. The decisions are obviously not being batched and I would expect other areas of the country to start seeing admit decisions today or tomorrow. This fully seems to be AO by AO admissions.

After checking a couple of times today (yes, obsessive), DS’s status just changed from “Applicant” to “Admitted” with the following information:
Career: Undergraduate
Program: Business Undergraduate
Plan: Information Systems BSB
Application Date: 10/11/2023
Details: Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to Indiana University Bloomington. You should receive an email within one week of the date of your acceptance that provides information about your next steps. Welcome to the IU family!

Stats: OOS (NYC Suburb public school) male, 95% UW, 99%W (doesn’t get much above 100/101% with our scale, he converts to a 4.25 on that scale) 1420 SAT, good extracurriculars and essay).
No mention of Kelley, but very excited!!!
