Did he get an email about the homora college?
There are some who hav been admitted to Hamilton lugar international law majors on zeemee.
Okayāthatās the school my daughter is waiting onā¦ can I ask what his stats were?
Back to update that my son received an email IU after his portal update earlier in the week. Per the email he was admitted into the University Division pre-business, and thereās no mention of Kelley.
Looks like heāll likely need to file a Kelley petition now (we had anticipated he could be a direct admit with a 31 ACT superscore and the GPA). But he also transferred high schools (I didnāt realize that could be an issue until someone else above just mentioned) and his composite ACT is 29, compared to the 31 superscore.
On the portal, did it say business or pre-business when it showed he was admitted - just curious thanks
Question for those who know IU, daughter will be in arts and sciences. Which dining hall would you recommend we try for lunch? Would like to get a feel for what her area of campus would be. Thanks!
Now that I got into CAS, if I want to double major, how do I do indicate that?
McNutt is probably nicest but most kids eat close to where their dorm is. Forest is also good.
Youād probably get as much feel just walking through it than actually eating. If your child is thinking of rushing taking a quick walk down 3rd to see a few of the houses by the law school and walk down Kirkwood a bit. Thereās a great coffee shop just down Kirkwood where the Laughing Planet used to be if you need a break.
He received an email that said direct admission to Kelley and direct admission to Hutton Honors College. I do not believe the portal stated that - it was in the email.
Sorry - I didnāt respond to you directly. The email stated direct admit to Kelley and Hutton Honors college. It did not state that in the portal.
I would also expect that your daughter will be accepted as she has high enough stats and is a priority demographic. We should expect to see lots of women admitted in the first wave of petitions.
I suspect (but donāt know for sure) that Kelley will continue to admit a large percentage of petitions overall. And the timing of admit to Kelley will be influenced by institutional priorities. So the first waves of petition admits will likely be very high stats and women (and whatever else Kelley is looking for in its classāwhich we canāt necessarily see). And thatās because Kelley will want more time to convert those institutional priority admissions into enrolled students.
Yes - Hutton Honors College was in the email. It was not in the portal
If you know, is honors college direct admit on specific stats (e.g., 1500+) or is it holistic admit?
There are direct admit parameters
Did you ever get confirmation about whether ācompositeā includes superscore or if it means single sitting?
Itās a bummer that none of this was clear earlier! When I do the little widget on the Kelley page to see if you need to petition, neither of your issues would have jumped out at me.
I do think your son will get in on petition with a 31 superscore (just my opinion stalking these message boards for a year or so), but if he is just now petitioning he may have to wait a while to hear back. And I know that can be a bit demoralizing. (Thatās how we are feeling about Mich St right now-- itās hard for my son to hard to keep up enthusiasm if he wonāt be notified about direct admit to Broad business until April.)
I thought I read thereās a direct admit to Hutton honors with a 1500 and 4.0 GPA? If your close to the criteria itās a case-by-case review.
I found the link. It looks like there is a direct admit on stats and holistically. And if your student isnāt offered admission directly, they can petition.
Hutton is direct admit on stats - I think itās a 1500 SAT maybe and whatever the ACT equivalent is of that - GPA 4.0 I believe. Then IU also reviews each application that is not direct admit on stats and makes a determination if they offer you direct admit. Finally if you receive neither you can petition for Hutton.
Lots of questions on merit - I donāt think IU would ever send merit with admissions. As someone earlier posted - clearly IU pivoted from hopes to admit all with their college petitions and instead is admitting into University with those who are auto stat direct admit.
I donāt think you can look at Kelley prior years and extrapolate how long it will take to respond on petitions. Especially telling EA applicants to apply by 2/1. Hard to say if they will have a first wave of admits or not. I know they are reviewing petitions, but action may be awhile depending on how many direct auto admits are in this wave. Thatās the stat petitioners should care about. IU will need around 6000 admits to Kelley to achieve 1700 or so spots enrolling. The more those are auto-stat the fewer petition.
Has anyone from Illinois been admitted to Arts and Sciences? Still waiting over here. Applied 10/18.
Nothing for D24 either. She submitted end of October too. She should be direct admit to Kelley.
