Our family has also been wondering about this issue, as Indiana has historically had a rolling admissions approach but the website reads differently this year. I called Admissions and was told they are not doing rolling admissions this year and that EA applicants can expect decisions on January 15. (I guess remains to be seen if some high-stat kids will nonetheless still get early acceptances, the way some other EA schools do.) Just passing this info along in case it’s helpful to any of you.
Thank you for the info!
Bummer! Was hoping for an early read. But hanks for letting everyone know.
S24 OOS just applied EA for Data Science at Luddy School
3.9 UW/ 4.4 Weighted
1530 SAT single sitting (780M/750V)
3 Dual enrollment classes
6 APs, CalcAB(5), US History(5), EngLang(4), Gov, CompSciP and CalcBC
4 year Varsity basketball starter (but will just be rooting from the stands in college)
Loved the campus during our visit last year.
How long did it take to get the IU portal link after applying?
I want to say a week or so. For whatever reason, it took a bit longer on the IU portal to show proper receipt and processing of the application support materials (transcript, etc…).
Hello! Is it possible to change to ‘Test Optional’ after applying with Test Scores? If yes, would it help for someone with average test scores for Kelley?
I have no idea if you can change, but I also don’t think you would have any idea if it would help because Kelley is not telling anyone they did not get admitted based on test score compared to the rest of your application. With the way you can get admitted to Kelley if you take the general biz classes and reach a minimum GPA there isn’t as much risk as from some other schools in entering pre-business and eventually being admitted. There are many paths to Kelley and being directly admitted as a frosh is only of relatively small value IMO.
Yes, you can change to test optional. There is a form on the IU admissions website.
If you think the test score supports the rest of your application you should report it. If you think the test score detracts from your application, then don’t report.
We have no way of knowing how Kelley values scores in the petition process.
The plot thickens…just talked to admissions. They are doing some rolling admits, they guarantee decisions by Jan 15 but recommend to keep en eye on portal as they will likely admit some before then
Just randomly check portal? Or will there be an email?
Not sure but from other threads it seems haphazard. I’m asking my kid to check every few days
Oh that’s exciting news! Have they already admitted some?
Good luck to all! Would be nice to know before winter break (and before seeing the relatives over the holidays LOL).
This was always their stated policy and everything so far has been right in line and if that continues it will not be rolling like every couple of days it will be in batches on a specific day like third Tuesday of month (I’m just making that up as an example). Sometimes the portal updates prior to the email as a process so checking the portal is a hack, but you will receive an email.
DS24 applied on 10/30 and still waiting on portal login - how long has it taken?
More than 3 days for login info. Patience. Usually its 5 days to a week and that is in a period when not receiving 8,000 applications at once.
DS24 submitted on Oct25th and got portal info on 31st.
Anybody notice a change to portal? Daughter said hers changed from “pre arts and sciences” to “arts and sciences”. Not sure if that means anything. She submitted 10/1.
Just checked and my son’s still says Pre-CollArts&Sc. But he didn’t submit until 10/18.
Thanks, not sure if it means anything. My D is test optional, so she wouldn’t be a direct admit but has gpa, rigor and ECs that should be enough to overcome the lack of test. So this may mean she cleared that hurdle but
