Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Scholarship 2014-2015

Good luck to all of you waiting. I’ll pray for you.

@NashvilleCat, thank you.

Thanks @NashvilleCat, That means that we are likely to hear something this week, I mean the transfer applicants

It looks like this year they will again give the information to the schools, leaving the applicants in this terrible waiting anxiety. I know they said this year they will tell the winners before the schools but I doubt that and beside their information is usually not consistent. Any update?

No update, but I don’t think they would notify the school first if they’ve explicitly told multiple people that we would hear first.

@georgemk, I would go with what the foundation said. I don’t think the whole process of notifying the school worked well because some schools didn’t even tell their students and some students weren’t at school when the school went to notify them.

just called the jkcf and I was told the notification of winners will be done in late April.

@crepayne, they tell anyone who calls that. If you email, they tell you something else. I talked to the head of like the transfer department (at least that is what he made himself sound like) and was told no one higher up than him has told him anything different so it should still be late March. And when I asked him about late April, he went to someone else and was told it should still be late March, early April.

@adorse26 Who have you spoken to so far? I’ve spoken to Todd and Nancy

@kyriephilbrook, Todd. Every time I talk to him, he acts like he is the head of the transfer or another department so he should know everything. I asked him about late April and he got mad like he had answered that before. Told me whoever told applicants about late April was wrong and that he even had talked to someone higher up than him. That’s how I found out that they would let us know before schools because he asked someone else.

@adorse26 yeah same here, it’s just weird cause he was really adamant about us having answers by the end of march in previous emails, but he said “late March/early April” in the most recent one. There are only 3 more days in this month for them to notify us, so unless nobody in this forum won, I’m guessing the notifications might spill into early April.

@kyriephilbrook, that’s why I figured he had to be someone important because every time I talked to him he claimed he would know before everyone else if there was a change. Hopefully something happens tomorrow or next week.

Thanks @Adorse26 for the update, lets keep our fingers cross for tomorrow and if nothing is out then next week.

@Georgemk and @kyriephilbrook, at this point I would just like to know even if I don’t receive it so that I can finalize my plan B if I can’t go through with plan A.

I’m on spring break next week :frowning:

Havent received anything .-.

Nothing on my end yet, either. I seriously doubt anything is done on weekends, so it looks like April will be it after all. I’m curious to know exactly how many people applied this year.

@nekozuki, there was an estimated 3,500 for this year so I think they got that being that they had 300 more applications last year since no one needed to be nominated anymore, how many actually submitted their applications after starting them and how many they thought would actually be qualified since their is always going to be people who isn’t qualified applying. I think their estimate should be about right because I talked to someone this morning and I think they expect to start notifying people next week, but I think that can go into the first full week of April.

@nekozuki, I just asked someone from the foundation if they received more applications this year than estimated and if they stopped reviewing when they planned. If you don’t already know, but want to know where I am getting my information from. I am getting it from the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship website under FAQs. They have a timeline and the estimated applicants under FAQs.
