I guess if we don’t start to hear anything about being a scholar this week then we won’t hear anything until late April. I’m not going to be happy about waiting, but I’ll get over it. At this point just want to know something.
I feel the same. I just want to know If I get it or not.
How surprising! I am also attending Tarrant County College. Hopefully we all hear back soon!
Good luck everybody
@IsmaelCast which campus?
@greekgirl2005 I am at the Northwest campus!
@IsmaelCast are you Phi Theta Kappa? Because, you know, 80-85% of JKCF winners are PTK
@greekgirl2005 yes ma’am and also the cornerstone honors program; However, I am just a member since I was serving as President for the Texas Association of Mexican American College Students.
That’s quite an accomplishment!!! Sounds like you have a pretty good shot at the scholarship.
@greekgirl2005 Thank you for the kind words! No matter what the results are, if anyone would like to connect here is my LinkedIn: ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/in/ismaelcast
Best wishes to everyone!
Tomorrow is the last day that they’re supposedly notifying the winners! My heart is going to jump every time my phone rings, lol. I’m betting it’ll spill into April though. Has anyone heard anything else yet?
@kpcosmic, Todd emailed me again today. I didn’t even email him. He said Late March or Early April again, but he also said something that confused me so he might have been giving us the wrong information this whole time. From what he said to me today, I am not sure me and him are talking about same scholarship even though I state the transfer scholarship the whole time. @nekozuki if me and Todd the guy from the foundation are talking about the same scholarship, he said less than 3,500 people applied for the scholarship. I emailed Todd back will let everyone know what I find out soon as I find out.
Thanks @Adorse26 please let us know the any update. I am beginning to get over it, because it is affecting me in my studies
@adorse26 Wow, that’s crazy! It definitely does sound like he was on a completely different page.
I’m a college advisor at a public high school. One of my students received a phone call yesterday. Good luck!
@ktwofish, we are talking about the transfer scholarship. It’s only for community college students who are transferring to a four year scholarship. I think you are talking about the other scholarship.
Sorry. By the title of the thread, that was not clear.
I just called the foundation and they told me to call the call center at 855-509-5253 and I spoke to Todd. He told me that they are the company the foundation hires to do the application process and the foundation is the one that notifies the winners. He said he was going to contact the foundation today to try to get a better idea of when they will be doing the notifications. So I called back the foundation and spoke to the women who told me to call them and said she just received an email from the people who review the applications and they said they are still in the process of reviewing applications and notifications will be mid-late April! Not sure if it’s true or not but I am going to try to forget about it for a couple weeks! Haha yeah right!
… I am going to pull my hair out waiting. It’s getting harder and harder to decide where I will be going if I do not know what money I will have to get me there. I hope that it happens soon. VERY soon…
@futurenurse2018 Sigh, I had my hopes up this whole week for nothing. Thanks for the info! I hope it isn’t late April, that doesn’t leave much time to decide where I’ll be going since most schools require a deposit by May 1st.
