Hey, I’m African and I found the January SAT really difficult.
Guys, what would

Math - 1wrong (I’m pretty sure of the rest)
C.R - 6 wrong; 4 omit
Writing - 6 wrong/12 essay

be?

^Hmmm, funny that I’ve seen almost exactly that same post by a different person (robertbergen1490).

Also funny is that silverturtle is the curve oracle.

Hey Silverturtle which math section was experimental? thank you for your time and do you remember how the 8 students math question went?

predicting scores isn’t that hard. use this chart

M: 770
R: 730
W: 700
2200 is all i want so im keeping my fingers crossed

What do you think my score will be? Think I can meet my PSAT score of 194, so a 1940?

Math: -4,5
CR: -8,9
Writing- Not sure here. -6,7. Essay was not that good, and this will probably be my worst section. 6-8 essay.

Thanks

With five multiple choice wrong, you would have 700.

With nine wrong, you would have 680.

With seven wrong and 6 essay, you would have 590. With seven wrong and 8 essay, you would have 620.

You are looking solid for at least 1940.

Hey guys what would be 7 wrong on CR, 5 Wrong and 2 Blank on Math, and 2 wrong on Writing with 9 on essay?

What would the score for these answers (wrong/right) be?

-1 to 3 Math
-3 to 5 Critical Reading
-1 to 3 Writing

Much appreciated.

Critical Reading: 700
Mathematics (assuming none of those missed were free-response): 680
Writing: 740

What do you mean by “wrong/right”?

Silverturtle, what’s the highest writing score I can get with a 6 essay? (I only wrote a page so I don’t think I can get higher than that)

Thanks

A score higher than 6 is possible with only a page; but, indeed, one-page essays do not often yield high scores. A 6 essay maxes out around 740.

@Silverturtle

Thanks. =)
A 740 actually sounds a lot better than what I thought is possible during the mental blank I had while writing the essay.
By the way, do any of you know anyone who got 8+ with only a page?

Errr. I meant wrong. I had no idea what I was thinking at the time. That was my fault.

Mathematics: one wrong to three wrong, respectively of course: 780-720

Critical Reading: three wrong to five wrong: 770-740

Writing: Assuming 10 essay (you did not specify), one wrong to three wrong: 790-730

I believe that this hyperlink - http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf - should be “stickied” to the top of the SAT page titled (words to the effect) “Predict Your Possible Score.” The easy access to the reference would perhaps relieve silverturtle some of the burden of having to predict scores.

I would also refer people interested in predictions to page 5 of https://satonlinecourse.collegeboard.com/SR/digital_assets/pdfs/eri/scoring_2006-2007.pdf to see Writing scores based on the raw score and the essay.

Also, don’t forget to subtract .25 for each wrong (as opposed to omitted) answer; then round to the nearest integer (.5 rounds in your favor).

what would by score be in CR if i skipped 6 and got 13 wrong?
