is it at all possible that 3 missed and 2 skipped is an 800?

Supers123, I omitted 2 and got 3 wrong (thus far…) I wish we both get 800 haha.

I just can’t “believe” that a question like the one we are discussing (subtly writing “contains” and then letting the answer be (-3, 3)) will be actually put forward.

We will never know though.

Rohit, did you put (0,2)?
I reallllllllllyy wish the answer is (0,2)…

hkim0713:
i know! i hope we can both get 800s!! im praying that i didn’t make silly mistakes

Yes, I put (0, 2). All the time I was thinking that they made some mistake, and this is a plausible mistake… so I was even more sure.

But anyways, to anyone giving the test later, if you did not have it already: GET A GRAPHING CALCULATOR. Seriously, If I had one, I would have gotten 800 for sure.

Supers123,

Same. I hope I didn’t make any other stupid mistakes!!

Rohit, I thought (-3,3) wouldn’t work because numbers like -2.99 won’t make sense in the given equation…

Because the set (-2, 2) is a subset of (-3, 3)

hkim: People are arguing that the question said “which set contains the values that x can take”, and since (-3, 3) contains (-2, 2) it should be an answer.

While logically this is correct, I don’t believe it because I don’t have the exact question to confirm if it said “contains” or not and because many people argued that (-4, 7) was an option too.

Right. And I was thinking that if (-4,7) was also an answer choice, then there shouldn’t be the word “contain” because then the question would have two answers. But we will never know…

what was the answer of obtuse-angled triangle with one angle 140 degree the opposite side 20 units and an adjacent side 15 units?

What were you supposed to find? The length or the angle?

angle. opposite to the 15 unit side.

I got 29 degrees when I solved it now. I probably put that as my answer, although I don’t remember.

yes 29 was the first option, how did you solve it?

The law of sines is the easiest way to solve for it.
sin (angle A) / (length of the side opposite to angle A) = sin (angle B) / (length of the side opposite to angle B)

Now I feel stupid. Again.

Well, other people are saying that (-4,7) wasn’t an answer choice and it was (-4,1) instead, which is what I saw when I took the test.
