JMU Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

Thank you!

Thanks, yes will be a tough decision. That is what these accepted student visits are for.

Everyone needs to do what is best for their student, and the family. Back in 2018 our son chose JMU(out-of-state) over UMass(in-state). At that time it was a $9k/year difference. Even though my wife and I are JMU alumns we never really thought our kids would leave New England for college. While we were excited that he loved JMU so much, cost is a factor that needed to be considered. In the end we went with our gut because we believed JMU was the right fit for him. Almost 4 years later we couldnā€™t be happier. Hopefully, no matter the final landing spot, you all make the best choice for your family.

Ok, so itā€™s Friday night, and what I am doing, snooping college portals(my daughter fully endorses my sleuthing). Her EA deferral showed when I went into the application page once she was deferred, and now it just says complete again, like it did before she got deferred, is this just part of being placed back into the RD pool? Really hoping for an acceptance in RD!:crossed_fingers:

@Momofthreema Iā€™m not certain, but I would guess that you are correct. Her application is considered complete for the RD round.

Click on the ā€œcomplete.ā€ Check if there is a new ID and not just the applicant ID.

Thanks @GKUnion, I know no one knows what the outcome will be, but the suspense is killing me
So hopeful for my girl! She has some other great choices, but we both just felt a connection with JMU. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

@tucktuck17 Where would that be? I only see the same student ID sheā€™s always hadā€¦

I saw on a thread from a couple of years ago that if you click the complete, additional information might pop up. Its in the college confidential JMU class of ā€˜24 page, in February. I could be mistaken. Good luck to your daughter.

@tucktuck17 thanks for the tip, I shall sleuth and see what I canā€™t find!:rofl::female_detective:

Has she reached out to the regional admissions counselor? Have her plead her case. Let them know itā€™s her first choice. OOS tuition is a plus for the school.

@GKUnion yes, and heā€™s been wonderful. Sheā€™s done what she can and now we wait.

For anyone whose student has decided not to attend, donā€™t forget to decline admissions on the portal. That will ā€œfree upā€ space for those waiting in the deferral line.

Thanks! I think it probably just reverts back to complete a month after notification. Just interesting that the deferral letter goes away too. Itā€™s like it never happened except that we know it did. Good luck to your daughter! Are you OOS?

Declined offer today so hopefully it opens up slots for those deferred.

Thank you @Steelers881! Hope your senior is happy with their selected school :heartpulse:

PSU was 1st Choice and instate. However, really liked JMUs campus and feel.

We toured the campus on the 1st day for freshman. Was an interesting day to visit and see all the freshman activities.

Have twins so one more still needs to decide.

Good luck with JMU everyone.
