June 2010 Curve Predictions

From what I’ve heard they usually are in June, as more people take the test bringing the average down. I’m hoping i got 680+ on CR, 720 on Math, and 660 on Writing, it would make my summer

What do you mean in your first sentence? Is that good for the curve or bad?

I meant to say curves are usually higher

The people taking the test has nothing to do with the curve. It’s the difficulty of the test that determines it.

So, what do we do to get the raw score on individual sections?

Number you got wrong times .25 + number you got wrong, subtract that from the highest raw score, and round up.

just wondering do you guys happen to know when the scores will come out?

June 24th.

okey dokey, thanks
I thought so, but then someone said something about 1.25 and I was like, wth?

If you get 3 wrong, is that a -4 raw score or a -3?

thanks. now i have to study for the act test

3 wrong is -4 raw since the penalty is .75. However, 2 wrong is a -2 raw, since the penalty is .5 and it rounds up. Sucks how 1 question can cost you that many points!

So what would be the raw for -1 MC, -1 Grid, 1 Omit?

-3, no penalty is amassed.

Would a -2 CR, -0 M, -2 W/12 E have a shot at a 2400?

^ That writing will be a 790 unless the curve is super nice.

That’s unfortunate…oh well…I don’t definitively know that I got any writing questions wrong after looking at the CC thread, but I’m taking a conservative approach to guesstimate my score. Thanks NewAccount!

What do you think for -6 on CR?

Around 720-730. Maybe even higher.

Meh, I hope so. I hated that part of the test. It’s usually my best part. :/
