@Expeliarmus

I am from India…Where are you from ?

I will have to wait till Next week for decision, probably rejection I guess :frowning: :(

Accepted from Pakistan, with a really generous FA package :)

International! Just received email… rejected! :(

@Timexie
here is my rejection from lafayette…

Dear xxx,

The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your application for admission to Lafayette College for the fall semester of 2011. You are a strong candidate and were given serious consideration within the highly selective pool of international applicants for admission and financial aid. We recognize your solid academic preparation and achievement and your potential to do successful course work at the post-secondary level.

Regrettably, we are unable to offer you a place in our class of 2015 since we cannot offer you any financial assistance. While we realize this is not what you had hoped to learn, we truly appreciate your interest in Lafayette and wish you much success in your future educational endeavors.

…
so…they’re rejecting because the money…
I am going to email them and ask more information and I checked MHC, nothing have changed…

Last post on this thread! Email says, Rejected, coz we were unable to provide aid that you need.
:(

^^^ Same thing here! Kind of depressing, because I have received from 3 universities rejections based on this reason.

rejected… UNABLE TO PROVIDE financial Aid

rejected same reason
to whom it may concern - I am from Nepal
Lafayette didn’t took a single guy from Nepal this year then?

@vladic007 : This is my 7th rejection…so its more depressing and I have lost faith!

Dear :smiley: ,

We are pleased to share that the Committee on Admission at Lafayette College has completed its formal review of all candidates for the class of 2015.

On behalf of the members of the committee it is my distinct pleasure to announce your selection for admission to Lafayette College, congratulations!

The attached documents include your formal letter of admission from our Director and may include other important information related to your offer of acceptance. A formal admission package has been sent separately by FedEx (or DHL if appropriate) today to the appropriate mailing address provided in your application for admission. You should expect to receive the admission packet no later than the next week by courier mail.

Again, it is my pleasure to share this good news on your selection to the college. This is a well-deserved honor of which you should feel very proud. Please call or e-mail me if I can assist you in any way over the weeks ahead. I look forward to welcoming you to Lafayette next fall! Once again, I want to offer my heart-felt congratulations.

Sincerely,

Alexander Bates

Assistant Director of Admissions

@Samuel91 - Congratulations! Are you an international applicant? Did you apply for / receive financial aid?

I GOT 2 rejections because of this reason. + 1 more.

Yes from India… Funding $51200 out of $53700

@Expeliarmus
well…have you got accepeted anywhere? like safe-school?
Sorry to hear that because I was rejected by smith (ed), hamilton…

Hi everyone!

I am an international student from Albania.

If it possible, I would like to ask:

How difficult is computer science at Lafayette College(for girls)?

What special skills do you need to have? For example, I am very good at mathematics, but I have studied few lessons C++ (self-learning)

How much problems face international students with the language?

Thank you!!!

Thanks LC82 for the info on Engineering at Lafayette. Sounds great.Hope my D gets a nice offer. We just got an offer from Clarkson University today. I feel it’s pretty good but would like to look into Lafayette.

FYI: Lafayette says that meet 100% of certified need of accepted US students. However, they say that financial need may affect admissions decisions for international applicants.

Actually, Lafayette is more generous than most US colleges - who typically do not offer ANY aid for international students.

I don’t think I got a scholarship, just need-based aid. They attached another sheet that details the breakdown of the package and there was a grant there, but no mention of a scholarship.

I am from a small country in southeast Asia :D

My acceptance letter looked like Samuel91’s except there was another personalized paragraph that mentioned some stuff I included in my application.

Yes…my Funding was also Need based without mention of any Marquis scholarship as I am international

The 90% funding consisted of GRANT (thankfully) and the rest was a combination of loan and work study…

Which country are you particularly from Kaitlin01 ?
