Likely letters are coming in!

got my likely today too :-D :-D :-D (my bubble is smaller tho 'coz i got the one that didn't have the "there is no question" phrase)... meh, can't have everything in life, right? hehehe.

Congratulations Parel and welcome to the Dartmouth board.

Taurustorus,

Congratulations, you are still in the class of 09 if you accept the admission. Expect that official letter on April 1 along with your certificate (yes you get a certificate with your admissions letter stating tha tyou have been admitted into the class of 09). Guess what? You're even going to have friends who are athletes. Go to Dimensions and have a great time. Do the happy dance and pratice your Salty Dog Rag (the official Dartmouth dance) :) ;)

Is this still the first wave???

"There is no question that when we mail our final decision in April, you will be offered admission to the College."

Relief. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Of course, that doesn't mean I can pay.

For all of you still waiting, I know how you feel. After a EA Yale deferral and not having the first likely round from Dartmouth, I was feeling a bit down. But, you know what, I still am. In the end, we all still have to wait (unless Dartmouth is a clear first choice with no money involved), and we are all in this togeather.

Wishing the best of luck for the journey WE still have ahead,
Nickleby

hahaha, thanks sybbie719. i already do have a lot of athlete friends (including a field hockey player who's definitely attending Dartmouth), but i am definitely looking forward to meeting and making friends with many more.

You know I had to throuw that in from one of your other threas, bu ti'm still happy for you and got love for ya.

I don't know if I want to play sports at Dartmouth. I mean I can swim and I'd love to play polo, but its a lot of time and work. They have guys vball as a club, so maybe I can hone my skills a little over the summer and play that. Of course I'll do intermural, that stuff is the best.

If I go to Dartmouth, I want to get better at snowboarding!

I just started ... so yeah.

Joey

I'd like to at least try snowboarding one of these days.

skiing is wayyyyyy better. been doing it since I was 3! you don't fall on your a$$ every five seconds at any rate

then again, this is coming from the daughter of two people born in Moscow, maybe i'm biased

Maybe just a tad...! :p

I want to go to Moscow. Blu- if we both end up at Dartmouth, how about on one of our quarter-y things off, you show me around Moscow. Deal?

haha i wish i could, honestly. but my parents left Russia because of anti-semitism, they don't really want me to go back there. but for you, i'll make an exception. Esp. if you put your excellent command of the French language to use and show ME around Nice or Paris lol

Then again, reading the hotivy thread has suddenly changed my attitude about Dartmouth. I mean...DARTMOUTH?!??! who's ever heard of DARTMOUTH?! If a meteor hit earth, Dartmouth would be obliterated, but HYP would survive and stand proudly, beckoning other natural disasters to just TRY and break down their fortresses of education! If I get into Dartmouth it'd be like a PERSONAL INSULT. Now I'm going to go admire my nonexistent profile in the Who's Who, and don't deny it, you are all jealous of my stellar achievements and skillz, be they social or with a bowstaff! BOW DOWN TO ME, IDIOTS! STAND IN AWE OF MY MAMMOTH INTELLECT!

hey congradulations to everyone who got letters. You should definitely come up for the dimensions thing. I visited last fall and it completly cemented my decision to apply ED. No book or picture can really do the place justice. I'm really hoping I can find some way to get out there for dimensions to meet some of you guys. Good luck with the rest of your schools!

The good thing is that what every sport you play or want to learn you will have the opportunity to do it as you need 3 physical eds for graduation (which can be filled by intramurals, playing on a team or just learning how to snowboard)

haha thanks, sybbie, that was today's I-Didn't-Think-I-Could-Love-Dartmouth-More-But-Hearing-That-I-Now-Do...skiing for credit?!

Oh man!! I'm loving Dartmouth even more every minute!

(from today's Daily Dartmouth)

Thanks for letting us know.

And by the way...it's not called "The Daily Dartmouth," it's called just, "The Dartmouth," or "The D," if you prefer.

It is also known as the "Daily Dartmouth" as 2,100 Google links attest.

See, for example: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:C71sz_6x4nQJ:www.dartmouth.edu/dms/students/resources/policyregs/25_political.shtml+%22The+Daily+Dartmouth%22&hl=en

Byerly, The paper is called the Dartmouth

You gotta calm down a little. It is one thing to hold on to your convictions, but everything does not have to be your battle -especially the minutia that you sometimes allow your self to get caught up in. People like pushing your buttons and sometimes you play right into that. By the time you get older, you'll be burned out and won't have the energy fot fight for things that do matter. (I am not saying it to insult you or hurt your feelings). You are obviously very intelligent, and like to do research, and like to share wat you've learned with ohters. But as I said before sometimes the message gets lost on the messenger.
Stop letting people bait you.
