LOCI should always focus on what NEW stuff you have done this past semester and how you have continued to push yourself as a person and applicant. Do not reiterate your WHY LMU essay. Focus on you and how this schools will help you achieve your goals/dream job like no other school.

Was deferred then ghosted by Chapman, and I am glad I went to LMU instead. Got internships my first year, great film professors active in the industry, and the campus is just so much better. I didnāt know how important having a pretty and SAFE (closed gated community) campus would be. I can run at 12am and still feel safe. Also, the school did so much for the holidays. The christmas tree lighting ceremony, yoga with goats (for finals weeks), and just all of the christmas decor. It made me happy during the very stressful weeks of finals.

Is the scholarship offer the same? Chapman has better equipment but that doesnāt matter for screenwriting. Chapman BFA where LMU BA.
Patiently waiting here for my D to get her email. I have checked her portal (she gave me permission to all of them!) and sheās IN through EA! Her brother is there now in Film Production. So I know based on the portal message that sheās inā¦but Iām trying to be patient so sheāll get the news. Any chance sheāll get an email today I wonder? Otherwise weāll be waiting on snail mail, or Iāll have to confess!
ha! thatās funny. I couldnāt wait this long. I think you need to tell her you āheardā that acceptances are out and she should check her portal right away!

They got an email as āLMU application updateā but it says to check the portal. Today parents got an email too.

He loves LMU. He took one year off during COVID since he didnāt want to miss the fuller experience of filming and staging due to the restrictions for that year. Now that everyone is much more accustomed to living with COVID, it works. LMU handled the COVID crisis so well, in my parental opinion. Testing has been available early and often. Good accommodations have been made. Great communication. Heās had wonderful opportunities come his way for freelance workā¦and is working a bunch of senior thesis films this semest as a juniorā¦serving on set for camera crew, and also doing a lot of editing and coloring. And we just found out heāll do his fall semester next year in Bonn, Germany!

My daughter was accepted EA! Now we need to wait for the Financial Aid decision. Keeping our fingers crossed.

I think education-wise they are both amazing schools and you canāt go wrong with either. For my daughter, some of the X-factors were campus, location/internship opportunities, and overall vibe, all of which swung in the favor of LMU (she EDād and was accepted). But there might be reasons that swing your son toward Chapman (she applied EA and withdrew her application once she got her LMU acceptance). Either way, heāll have an awesome experience.

My daughterās aid was āokā by LMU standards. I have heard from people who did EA to both last year received much more from Chapman. But they still chose LMU, as did we.
How is LMU for business? Can you speak more about internship or experiential opportunities for business students?
