Mine got a bit less and agreed, very disappointed. Then again, at least it’s something.

This is what my daughter just received. She’s leaning more towards SDSU, so wasn’t too upset.
Does anyone know what the difference is between the “LMU Grant” and the “LMU Achievement Award” is? She got a nice letter congratulating her on the Achievement Award but the “LMU Grant” is kind of buried at the bottom (and quite a bit more $).
We are. This is such a anxiety-laden process.
Congrats! Yes, it’s so tough because the tuition is so high. Not ‘really’ affordable for most people.
True. Need to do the math and see whether mine can graduate in three years like her brother. That would help but still. Will wait to hear back from UCs!
My daughter only got $8,500/yr + $2k EA. It’s much less than we were hoping for and makes LMU the priciest option other than Northeastern (where she got $0 ).
My daughter received the presidential scholarship.
3.78 uw, 4.8 w
35 ACT
This is a tough process.
Good luck everyone.
Got the arrupe award
19k Aruppe
2k EA award
Total 21k
3.63 uw/4.1 W
SAT 1340
You will get the Presidential.
Keep the faith
Exactly what my son got. Congrats to your daughter!
Forgot to add my D’s stats - 3.9UW/4.36W 1380 SAT. I have to think that her test score hurt her from getting more scholarship. Other schools gave her so much more.
My daughter received the Arrupe award
14k Aruppe
2k EA award
Total 16k
3.87 W
SAT 1300
Your daughter has better acafemic stays than mine. I think they do a holistic review and focus a lot on EC’s related to the core Jesuit mission (social justice, greater community good etc)
My D did 100’s of hours in these areas
Mine got LMU achievement for $7000, a $3000 grant, and $2000 for applying early. Stats are 3.98 unweighted\4.4 weighted. Lots of leadership. Founder and president of a club, student ambassador, etc……lots of extracurricular. This was underwhelming to say the least. Ah, well….onward we go. Good luck, everyone!
That’s is what I think. My daughter applied test optional. I think it hurt her, here. Ah, well.
Congrats!
My D22’s package was identical to the one you’ve described- $7k, $3K, $2K. Stats: 3.98 unweighted, 1360SAT, student government, club, and athletic leadership, some service. Whether or not to report SATs in this optional environment can be a tricky call, especially if their use might help with admission, but hurt when it comes to the scholarship tiers. Best wishes to you as you figure out the financials!
Is the $2K early action amount only for freshman year?
from finaid:
“The EA award is a renewal award for up to 4 years, or 8 semesters as long as the student is enrolled full time (12 units or more) every semester.”
